My 2 cents worth as a long time poster

Set some clear rules and protocols for online behaviour and apply them consistently to everybody. This consistency has been sadly lacking on this website. I know there has been a code of conduct but based on some of the posts I have read many people seem blissfully unaware of it.

Debate issues but no personal abuse - I can disagree with you but I dont have the right to yell, use obscenities and get personal. Don't get defensive because someone has a different opinion.

Know the difference between banter which is often humorous and downright abuse which is boring. 

Send each new member a welcoming email which outlines the conditions of their use of the website, particularly the risk that some people seem to be unaware of in terms of making defamatory comments about public figures.

I'm all for expanding the number of sports covered on the website as long as the interest is there amongst members ( perhaps a survey may be useful)

To be honest I am over the political discussions on this site, particularly the Trump stuff. Everyone is entrenched in their views and the constant points and counter points by posters seem to me to be a waste of time and energy. Nobodies views are going to change. I would prefer the site to be focussed on Sport. To me there are plenty of other forums where people can discuss world affairs if they wish. I know people will say I don't have to read it but its hard to avoid when its at the top of the page just about every day.

My opinion, No dramas if you disagree but please argue the issue only. Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback.

I disagree Mickey regarding the Trump topic,the repercussions of what this unhinged lunatic is attempting to do,has worldwide repercussions,and I am more than happy to debate it,and no one has a gun pointed to their head to click open the discussions.

Great post Mike and I fully agree with most of it.  I have thought for some time now, that there is a small “purple circle” here that have privileges others don’t have.  While I agree with a bit of tightening up of the code of conduct, I’d hate to see it screwed down too tight.  We don’t have to be great mates, but a bit of respect won’t hurt.  I check the site out regularly nowadays and check the news, WAFL and East Freo sites.  I don’t bother with the other sites, I simply can’t be stuffed getting into a meaningless argument over what I say.  Thanks Mike, you said it all.

GTR, I have no idea, but I don't think he is up to AFL standard.Maybe I don't see what the selectors see in him.
But he competes, but he doesn't have any influence on the games .
I see more that may come from a player like Aiden Riddle.One 25, the other 20.
Also , if Odin Jones can get back after his back injury, I see him as a great asset.Ruck/ forward,, that befoe his unfortunate injury, was going to be trained a  back man.He is a monster, only 20 and has the versatlity that is needed as a second ruck.Hopefully he can get back for the club. 

In regards to those no longer here on the site, I remember one that named himself, "The Voice of Reason".
I found his comments pretty damn good. Not that we agreed on everything.But he was good.

TT - Don't worry about Leedy mate - he is still kicking, just got to call him Mel now. But lots of great names there, sadly moved on either naturally, by self choice or at the push of a button. Some pop back in from time to time like MO, but I do miss the banter from Seagull jnr, always found Peter North and Bensti  informative posters, and Grassy, well because he was Grassy, most passionate Perth fan I have ever come across.

I guess at the end of the day folk just want to talk footy, the crossing line for me, is always when it becomes personal, got no probs having a crack at ones Footy club, as long as what is dished out can be received.....but no need to slander folk, just means the individual doing it, are cooked in that particular topic....and just need to move on.

Good luck to the new owner, who ever that maybe....not an easy task keeping one, let alone a bakers dozen posters happy....
