I get the feeling something is not quite right at the WACA this year.
We have dropped our standard across the 3 forms, white ball cricket wise we are a laughing stock at present, last in the 50 & 20 over formats, maybe its a complacency thing, but it needs to be nipped in the bud quick smart by Voges & Harvey with hard calls made!

What an abject performance tonight. At least against the Sixers they fought the game out and it was Steve Smiths masterclass that was the difference. Tonight they had the Thunder under real pressure but like many other games this season they let the opposition off the hook with poor bowling, fielding and tactics. They have coughed up advantageous positions in at least 4 games this year. Turner has had a real shocker as captain which surprised me as I have generally thought that he has good leadership skills. The batting tonight was absolutely appalling and reflected the lack of any cohesive planning. Connelly was the only consistent batsman over the season. The overseas recruits are clearly the worst to ever come to the team.

Even though there are a number of players who have passed their use by date and need to move on, many of the Scorchers issues are attitudinal IMO. We are so used to the Scorchers having that competitive edge and executing the basic skills of the game better than everyone else, it is hard to watch them reduced to a rabble like they have been this year. The same thing has happened this year to the one day WA squad where inexplicable batting collapses and poor bowling has cost them the chance of defending their title. The Shield team also started to fall away in the same manner going into christmas although they still have a chance to reverse the trend when that competition resumes.

Its almost like WA have got too comfortable winning multiple trophies and an air of complacency has crept over the WA set up. Big challenge ahead for Voges to get that fire burning again in all 3 formats,

No one has shown the ability to dig in and score runs in any game (T20, 50 over or shield) clearly a drop in standards or motivation

Gee imagine  if the coaching staff were  Pricktorians....touch wood it's just a blip on Voges already impressive coaching CV

Scorchers were once the team to be feared.  What’s happened, are they thinking reputation will get them through?  I enjoyed Covid more than watching them.
I’ll be the first to admit that I know nothing about cricket tactics, but can anyone give me a reason why Turner took the 3 spinners off when they had reeled their batsmen in?  Soon as the quicks came back on, the ball was hit all over the place.

But one of the Abc radio commentators.Sitting. on the boundary during his commentary rotation.
Dont know the blokes name but he has an English accent.He does the Abc Qld,Nsw+Vic games.
He told Stewart Clark that Adam Voges was,asking Turner the same question between innings.Wavimg hands,and raising his voice.

Wow, very interesting.  Disunity in the camp over the last 2 or 3 weeks?

58 it was a tactical error by Turner.
He chose to go too his best bowlers.
Without reading the wicket .And how effective the spinners where bowling.

Bad decision has cost the season.  To be honest, they weren’t looking like they were going anywhere….finals wise.
