quite possibly no play for tomorrow but I'd say things will only get better for bowlers with that - it'll be a struggle to get the remaining 20 and any lead is valuable

Overall a very competitive days cricket. WA still have their noses in front thanks to Hardie, Turner and a nice little cameo from Josh Phillipe. I think the WA batsmen would have liked to stay out there for another 5 or 6 overs and erase the deficit but they could have lost a few wickets as well I suppose.

The pitch is obviously not easy to bat on given nobody from either team has made a 50 yet but i think a few of the WA players would be disappointed with the shots they played to get out. Hardie in particular did all the tough work and basically gave it away.

Ashton Turner changed the whole tone of the days play with a calculated counter attack when WA were stuck on 4-50 and were losing the initiative.

I assume they will be starting at 9.30 tomorrow so it is important that Turner and Phillipe re-establish themselves as they will be facing a fresh Boland and Sutherland. Mind you Sutherland is on his last warning for running on the pitch. If he gets another one does that mean he is banned from bowling for the rest of the match or just the innings?

Assuming WA manage to get over the 200 mark they will have beaten Victoria on bonus points but my feeling is that there will be a result in the game anyway so this would be a moot point.

I think Sunday is the dodgy day Southerner. Only 0- 1mm tomorrow and not developing till late afternoon so we will probably get at least 60 overs in. Sunday it is raining in the morning and could be up to 8mm so we could have more significant delays then. Monday is fine.

Maybe then getting that bonus point lead will be valuable for WA and the Vics will have to make all the running to try and win the game.

More important for WA to try and bat as long as they can in the first innings to try and put some distance between themselves and the opposition. A 100 lead would be priceless if they could get to 300 somehow.

just had a quick look and it could be quite humid tomorrow the storms are coming down fast from the north mate - it will be up to the gods all day
no doubt these two bats have to stick around as long as possible and the same goes with all that's left
the lead is crucial

Turner's innings has been the making of him in red ball cricket. He hung in during periods when the runs were scarce and pounced on the bad balls. It was an outstanding performance on a pitch where everyone else struggled. Paris supported him brilliantly. He watched balls very well and left the scoring up to Turner in the main. Then it was a great follow up by the bowlers. When Handscomb got out at 6- 74 I thought that WA might have even finished it off today but a bit of resistance from Sutherland has ensured that WA have to bat again.
The expected rain will probably delay the end of the game but if WA can break the current partnership early in the day, it could be over very quickly.

WA tactics this morning have been baffling to say the least, giving Sutherland easy runs to try and get Murphy out. They have finally succeeded but they wouldn't want the current 85 lead to blow out to 120 or the Vics may feel like they are in with a silly chance.

apart from a mini collapse in their first innings WA almost totally outplayed Victoria
They would be spewing with their insipid batting throughout - that's what cost them
Turner changed the game entirely
