SS  final, and no DRS. What are CA thinking. Reducing our premier competition to club level.
WA on top at the moment.  Vic 6/151. Morris two wickets

bit ridiculous this effort from Victoria - the opener is making Geoff Boycott look like Viv Richards I've never seen an opening batsman take 80 overs to score 39

We will know more about the wicket.Once both sides have had a bat.
Wa looking good on day1.
Have a feeling a big score not far away for Hilton Cartwright.

strange innings mate - maybe three batsmen played any shots at all
seemed like a decent start but it's blown a day
so few runs in a lot of overs geez

A real battle of attrition today with Chandrasinge a model of concentration against a disciplined WA attack. Unfortunately for Morris he had the opener out around the tea break but it was a no ball. They probably would have kept Victoria to around 150 if he had not overstepped. As it is 8-194 still looks under par but the pitch is very slow and if the tail can hang around long enough for Victoria to post up towards 250 then they will feel that they are well and truly in the game. They also have Boland who will be very hard to get away on that pitch. Murphy will also be confident after his break out tour of India so it won't be easy going for the Warriors

From WA's point of view, 2 quick wickets tomorrow means a minimum of bonus points to Victoria and a chance to get close to a full days batting. I have a feeling that Cam Bancroft is going to be a crucial player tomorrow because if he gets in he will be as hard to dislodge as Chandrasinge but he will score quicker. If Bancroft can anchor the innings, guys such as Whiteman, Wylie, Phillipe, Hardie and Turner can take on more aggressive roles in the chase for a first innings lead and bonus points

Both teams will be monitoring the bonus points situation carefully tomorrow as there is a significant chance of weather intervention on Day 4 of the match.

Half way through the day, WA are teetering at 3-53. Boland and Sutherland are strangling the Warriors after a solid opening stand of 41. They desperately need to dig in and put together a 50+ partnership or they may end up conceding a first innings lead to the Vics. No runs off the bat for 32 balls now and counting.
This puts the innings of Chandrasinge in a different context. He is doing what every WA batsman has failed to do so far. Occupy the crease.
As I write this Cartwright has been dismissed and WA have lost 4- 12.

It's been a disappointing response really after a pretty good start - no way can Bancroft go to England with the weakness outside off and it's time for Wyllie to go back to grade cricket for a long spell
Only 2 or 3 have looked like something Test good so far Boland , Short & Morris

couple of good catches to get rid of Bancroft and Cartwright.

If the wicket is hard to bat on you will always get a good ball so hitting a few in the middle to score runs is the best way to put some pressure back on the bowling side

The game was very nicely poised when the rains came in. WA 70 runs behind, 6 wickets in hand. Not too sure there will be much play for the rest of the day as the radar looks pretty threatening.
