And now today WA lose outright to TAS for the second time this season (3 including the Marsh Cup one day game) after gifting them a very generous run chase after declaring in both innings during the game.
Has WA ever lost both their Shield games to TAS before in the same season?

I haven't looked up the stats, Beas, but I couldn't imagine that Tassie has previously done the double on us in BOTH the Sheffield Shield and one-day competitions in the same season.
Given the blazing start Sam Whiteman and Josh Philippe gave us (93 runs off 91 balls), I thought we were set for an insurmountable score of 350+.
However, it wasn't to be.
When you compare Tasmania to South Australia, the Tigers are considerable over-achievers.

Are you referring to Ruben Trumpelmann, Ark?
By virtue of his flamboyant name, he could easily become a cult figure if recruited to the BBL or even the Shield.

AD: yep, that is him mate, thanks for coming up with his name; Benaud always liked left handers whom could swing the ball inwards.

Being a long-time teammate at both state and national level of one of the great lefties, Alan Davidson, probably explain's Richie's like for this type of bowler, Ark.

Is there going to be a completion to the Shield Season?.....or has Omnicron scuppered any chance of that?

Good question, Freez.
The cricket.com.au website has no upcoming fixtures listed.
WA is currently on top of the table, though the Vics and NSW have played two fewer games.

Article placed on the Cricket Australia website today:

Western Australia's ongoing border closure has left the remainder of the men's domestic season in limbo, with the possibility that some teams could finish the Sheffield Shield season having played more games than others.Schedules for the four- and one-day men's domestic competitions post the mid-season break are still yet to be confirmed despite the expected recommencement of the Shield competition next week.WA will not feature in next week's matches as the state effectively remains closed off, locking out players and support staff of the Perth Scorchers side that won the KFC BBL title in Melbourne last week.Cricket Australia is close to finalising the remaining schedule and it is believed some states may end up playing eight Shield games while others will only play seven, the minimum required for a full season to be constituted, with every team set to play each other at least once.Points to decide the top two teams to play in the Shield final would need to be averaged out on a pro-rata basis in the event some sides play extra games.

At this stage it is probable that WA will play a minimum of 2 more games (v Victoria and NSW) and maybe one V Queensland who they have already played once. Given the border situation it is likely that all these games will be on the East Coast. Of the WA Scorchers players, Agar, Richardson, Marsh, Inglis and possibly Tye will all be involved in the 5 match 20/20 series against Sri Lanka. Most of them have stayed in Melbourne until the situation has been clarified.
