Perhaps Peake will see the writing on the wall and retire sooner than first thought...to me he has been cooked since last year's state game where he kicked 7...

Howson has had numerous illness setbacks since his rookie year at Freo...never been well enough to get thru a preseason I was told...Ellis to me was too often the chopping block when Perham should of been instead....

Hampson is the most important player for EF....just can't get his body on the ground often enough...he and BOB when both fit are the linchpin for EF.

Would love to see youngsters like Bennett,Harding,Burton,Dion Anthony,Schleicher & Omodei played and persisted with...heard young colt Jaimon Alone is one to watch...lovely left foot with some good skills...EF never seem to fast track their good Colts as say SF and SD do..perhaps it's time to change things up and do so.

Agree Freez give those youngsters every opportunity to play and surround them with the right balance of senior players.....Monkey see monkey do...

When Malaxos "left" the club promoted a lot of youth- Hebiton and Perry from the Colts as well as J.Green, C.Green, Cripps, Barone, Baseden, Franklin, Fletcher ect. Those guys needed more games last year and would be up around the 30-50 by now. Most aren't even at the club.

Instead they wheeled out the same old players that had failed previously. Surely the club is in no position to sack Wiley. And i'd be filthy if he walked.

We should be doing a lot better than what we have dished up so far. The other worry for me is our ressies are underperforming as well.

KCEF, Out of those players you mentioned that aren't at the club:-
Perry - injury that hasn't come good. Having a year off. Do rate him.
J.Green - was travelling cancelled plans and decided to play down south. Let's hope he's back next season as I do rate him.
Cripps - decided to play in the east to improve draft prospects. Lets hope he comes back to add depth.
Baseden - work commitments.

I'm still worried about the young players that are going to be the answer.
Todays mids are taller, bigger and need to be quick. Players such as Marshall (172cm), Holmes (176cm), Harding (175cm), Burton (180cm), Parish (171cm) & Sorrell (176cm) lack height and from memory weren't quick with the exception of Parish. Some of these boys might surprise but they're no world beaters. None played state 18's from memory apart from Parish.

I do rate players like Franklin, Howson, Stokes, Fletcher when fit and D.Anthony who should be played regularly to get games under their belts to be better players.

Interesting to hear what others have to say on these players and others I have missed.

Interesting week coming up at the club if Hagdorns mail is true???

Don't have to go overseas to constitute "travelling" I guess....Come end of the day if they are getting paid more for less commitment than so be it... frustrating for us EF fans especially when those guys would be very handy ins at EFFC right now...

Sd??
Peake will have a few more than that at seasons end I would have thought?
As far as I know, he has no long term injury.

That whisper was obviously on the money then....though in a preseason interview on the EF site Peake said he was looking forward to another good season of footy...touch wood the club keep him as a forwards mentor...tho North Freo will see more of him than EF will I guess in 2017....

Time for the club to give Jacob Green a buzz on his "travels" to come back as a small forward...kicked 5 in a derby last year from memory

I think the fact that players have told the club they're travelling (J.Green, Bristow) or injured (Perry) but are playing elsewhere says something. I doubt they'll be back this year- if at all.
