pretty sure Lester-Smith has had more impact scoreboard wise this year than Perham FF2?....yet you are happy for Perham to be selected? ......as for Dorotich?.....pretty sure Jupp is out for 6 - 8 weeks....yep so tell me who's knocking down the door height wise to go up back in the reserves mate?.....Hampson is on an extended bench.....so is he a definite starter?.....

Whilst I agree Stavros is reluctant to take risks.....he has given debuts to Dion Anthony, Andrew Stokes, Jake Schleicher and Connor Regan this year.....moved Williamson down back......so I guess he is doing something 'new'.....all we need now is Barone to get a run this weekend and then Fletcher next week in the derby.... ;)

on paper that EF looks stronger than I thought it was going to be.....whether the side can transfer that onto the field is another matter.....time will tell I guess.....SD are always difficult at home......as Rock says SD talls are the ones which make me edgy......especially with EF lack of height up back.

Freezin: Hopefully we will do the double over Freo teams this week end. With respect to the other grades: our colts' team is strong again this year and our reserves is a reasonably young team which reflects our stated strategy of developing and promoting within so we will have our good days and our bad days.

The importance of our reserves' team cannot be understated and is significant to our ongoing success by providing a pathway from colts to league. It is also vitally important that it is seen as integral to our club and its success; hence, my complete opposition to the suggestion that the colts' and reserves' times should be swapped.

Looking forward, as always, to your post-match review and comments.

Been having a look at SD as we meet them next week and they have a great lineup with a lot of players who get involved in the play. Good team and will be hard to beat after looking at the SF game.
Sure Malaxos would of looked at matchups but big job.
Players to watch are Elari,Simpson,Blight and Riggio.
Geappen will have to be marked as goal kicker and big part of the team always has been.
Obviously the Swans midfield is very good and he is the target.
Will be interesting to see the match ups and How EF approach this game.
They will have to come out of the gate HARD and get the early ascendancy in my book as they are capable of doing.
Looking forward to listening to the game on 720

All the best Strono and The Rock. If you beat them of them it will go a long way of showing where your at. Mixed feelings as if you do beat them they will have something to prove against us :(

Look forward to our clash at Joondalup round 9 and Round 20 8 Aug at the Shark Pit :cheer:

I thought it was a very gutsy and committed effort by the Sharks today. With only two on the bench for the second quarter whilst Sam Read was out of the game with concussion after copping a heavy sling tackle and Liam Anthony in the rooms going through a concussion test. After halftime we had three on the bench with Liam Anthony's return. After quarter time the limited bench caused some challenges with the rotations. The skill level was better today with George Hampson providing a moving target up front. A great team effort today!

Would agree with that, their skill execution under pressure was really good and Hampson played very well. I also thought Young dominated in the air and around the ground. I suppose its a matter of producing that sort of form consistently and if so you guys should be in the mix come September.

I wonder if FF2 will be back caning Malaxos backside for picking Hampson after he has been out for 3 weeks ;) .......probably it was more risky of Malaxos picking Hampson then taking the safer option and giving him a run in the reserves instead.....luck, wisdom or good fortune.....Hampsons selection paid off.....though I reckon Lester-Smith might be enjoying his next game a wee bit earlier in the day.....

Sounded like EF midfield got their act together v SD, the inside 50 approach seem to be a bit more direct.......handy kicking straight too....been a while since that happen. Defence wise which players are stepping up in the absence of Dodd and Howlett this year? Read didn't see much of the action after Cary's reckless tackle, Jupp was already out, so did Dorotich step up? Williamson from the sounds of things has made the transition from small forward to small defender pretty seemlessly, whilst Chartres seems to be seeing plenty of the footy.

Up front where did Hampson play? Ellis keeps picking up the goal or 2 each week, hopefully EF can find another tall target up front before the year is out........though not much cooking in the reserves at present. EF colts missed a great chance to kick SD right out of the game before half time.....5.8 - 2.0 sounds like EF were well in control.....touch wood the colts can keep improving....great to see 7 players in the initial state squad....not too sure all 7 will get through but good luck to all 7 in their attempt of playing for their state.

Haha get back in your hole mate, you're an absolute flog. All you wanna do is bag certain players. Mix in a clue and some knowledge. Someone doesn't need to touch the footy 20+ times in a game to have an impact. Stop being a flog mate and just have faith in stavs decisions. Every week you get on here and have a whinge about East freo not signing any key forwards. They don't grow on trees mate. Any half decent key forward we have produced have gone to the AFL. Unfortunately we aren't in a financial position to compete with other clubs.
Give up the Lester-Smith bashing aswell, sit back and actually watch how hard the kid runs defensively, and how many goals he gives off and sets up for his team mates. Sure he isn't in great form, but he is very much a marked man by opposition teams these days in terms of being shut down. He is in our best 22 no doubt.
Carn the sharkies.
