Geez who ever loses this game will be pretty depressed dome Sat night........would love to ssy with confidence it will be Perth, but if EF keep kicking poorly into and at their goals then it could be another fustrating arvo and probably anothet nail in the coffin for Malaxos.

Perth like EF lack a power tall forward, both teams seem reliant on mid size guys to kick the goals........surely its time for Malaxos to put some faith in afew of those performing reserves boys like Hooker, Green,Schleicher and Tim Bristow and give them a run........gotta feeling though he will persist with the likes of LesterSmith, Peake,Bourne,Henson and Young till the state game.

On paper EF midfield looks more than half decent, defence, whilst not overly tall more than serviceable, just dont have an out an out rudkman and tall target up front to feed the fleet of foot soldiers EF have running aimlessly round their impotent forward line. Sadly for EF none of those reserves boys are tall forwards.......thus more of the same......can see why Malaxos persists with them.......hopefully Ellis gets another go.......SD backline is one of the best and meanest going around the WAFL....

Who is gonna win?.......aint got the foggiest....and that is said with confidence

Interesting freeze you always throw up the comment regarding EF's lack of height up forward and that being there downfall but on Saturday at times you blokes had Young, Perham, Ellis, Chartres & Lester-Smith up there and all are over 190cm! That is as many if not more talls then we had! ;)

East Freo have the ability to win this game and keep their finals hopes alive. IMO T.Bristow must play this week if not for Young then he must come in to add some presence into the front 50m. Think Edwards can cover the Bourne role as the small to mid size forward. Lester smith while out of form still makes up part of the front six for me with Perham and Ellis.

Agree the names you have thrown up should be considered for selection along with Boyle. Who they replace is up for debate. The State game should not be any consideration at the selection table, 4pts is needed or the season could be dusted.

IMO we must be more direct, ball movement to short to often, we always seem to be kicking into a forward line full of opposition players. I think The Bulldogs, Royals and Swans all looked quicker than us but I think this had more to do with the penetration in a lot of there kicks than it did with their leg speed.
In the final quarters of these games when we had nothing to lose we would throw caution and most of the pregame tactics out the window and just play no frills kick long football and get in behind the defence.
Forwards love one on one football defenders hate it. Time to try something different , different game plan or different mix of players, be bold at the selection table , like port Adelaide and Swan districts or just make up the numbers for the rest of 2014.

EF have quality players that have not yet fired in 2014. Perth are yet to put a full game together and were terrible against Subiaco last week. I'm tipping with my head here and going to say East Fremantle by 4 goals.

none of those guys would be the number 1 or 2 goal kicking tall in any other WAFL side......yep they are over 190cm....but you know as I, there is a difference between a tall and a goal kicking tall running around your forward line.....but at present SD could play their backs up front and vice versa and still be winning....it's amazing what a bit of confidence does for individual and team.....hopefully some of SD confidence will rub off on EF soon

TBH the winner of this game is just going to create false hope for there supporters.
Both clubs will not make the 4 this season and the next 3 weeks will just confirm that with tough games coming up for both clubs.
Perth have Swans and East Perth coming up in the next fortnight.

Re-lack of talls its been a problem for us for years and im constantly told they dont grow on trees,BS qualty recruits of all sizes up to WAFL standard are out there.
I have a feeling our coach doesnt rate talls!!

We have always tried to turn the 6'1" or 2" player into a Ruckman or key forward or key back and it hasnt worked for us.

Rubbish 30+, South will lose to Peel this w/end and we have Subi & EP in the next 2 rounds, we will be 3/6 in a couple of weeks, 4th spot will be a chop up to at least the 2nd last round !

Whys it rubbish?
Whats South and Peel got to do with anything???

The 4 imo is done and dusted regardless whether West Perth win or lose tommorrow.
Perth in the next 3 games after EF have Swans,East Perth and Subi.

West Perth will beat Claremont and East Freo in the coming weeks and you also have East Perth at home, didnt you flog them by a lazy 100 points away from home last meeting.

I Cant see anyone from outside the 4 at present challenging any teams inside the 4.

You haven't been watching WP every week 30+, we are a tad short of shit house atm. We have already lost to CL, EF, SF and nearly to Peel, all of whom were sitting at the bottom (minus the 1st round v EF). I did see a glimpse of passion return in the 2nd half of last weeks game, I grant us that !!!
