SD are flying at present.....hopefully not high enough to stop them from coming back to earth with a bump.....a lot of emotion expended getting the 4 pts v Subi for Ames and Davis 200th & 100th respectively......playing like a committed unit, hungry right across the field.....big ask for EF to topple the form team of the comp at present...

With that 6.5 last quarter I reckon fellas like Lester-Smith, Boyle and Peake, will have a stay of execution for another week......though J Bristow needs to come in, Ellis and Perham surely will be knocking on the door after their 5 goal hauls last weekend....Ellis's 3rd 5 goal haul on the trot....could do a Cary and sneak under the radar and be a potent target for his side?

EF need to get their act together faster this weekend.....two games now they have lost to slow starts....yet had every chance to snatch victory at the death.....though not too sure Malaxos fuse box could stand another slow start - barnstorming finish.......SD look to have a good balance of experience and youth.....playing committed never say die footy from all reports......will be tough but if EF hope to play finals this year then beating quality sides in form is what they must do.......

Yes Freezin, it will be interesting to see how both teams respond to last weeks games. Sounds like the Sharks were pretty good for all but one quarter against East Perth but like the previous week, they left themselves too much to do in the last quarter.

As you said, Swans will be in danger of having a let down after building themselves up for the Ames and Davis milestone games and it will be important for them to have their minds on the job early.

Swans will be the bookies favourites in a game for the first time this season and it remains to be seen how they handle that. East Freo have a very solid midfield led by Dalzeill, Peake and O'Brien, so they would match up well on our mids.

Swans defence is very tight and the Sharks will need their forwards like Lester-Smith to keep the pressure on in the 50. Geappan always seems to play well against you guys so Malaxos will have to think about his match up there. Cary and Jukes will also be keen to play well against their old club.

The Sharks seem to enjoy playing at Bassendean as they have won 4 games there over the last 3 - 4 years including a final. Its funny though that at Shark Park, Swans have won 5 of the last 6 there. So much for home ground advantage

Ellis must come in and Lester Smith dropped. Players need to earn their spots regardless of who they are. Too many quiet games for my liking from Snuff and Ellis has kicked 5 goals in each of his last 3 games.

Even though J Bristow played very well in the ressies I'd be waiting till the death knock whether I'd be playing him. In saying that Youngy has been in terrible form of late???

Badly need a win and as you say Mike we have done quite well at Basso of late.

This Saturday is the real 200th for Ames and 100th for Davis.
Due to the WAFC added the Foxtel Cup game in the count.

So This Saturday come and help celebrate the 200 game milestone of Tallan Ames and the 100 game milestone of Ryan Davis plus with the big win over Old East.

Sorry Strono but had to go SD in this one even though with my tipping (wooden spoon at moment) you will most probably win. After watching last weeks game the obvious thing is come out firing and keep up the effort. That 3rd killed you last week.
Listening to WAFL WORLD yesterday morning (it is on 91.3 now) Brett Raponi picked you to win.
All the best anyway will be listening with interest

Hot Country digital is a shit of a station to find... But got it last week eventually

I see the Colts are getting a bit of Hammering at EF ... Hope Rock is enjoying it

I missed the game due to work & missed out on the carnage. Which strategy did we run with today:

a. Bombed the ball in high to our short forward line or
b. Chipped the ball slowly around the flanks & into the pockets to our short forward line?

Sad fact is, I think that Steve has lost the boys. Watching them, I don't believe that it is totally a lack of talent nor a lack of tall timber. I would imagine that after today the board has decided to look for a new coach for next year. If they do, I hope it is done 'gracefully' where it leaves a great servant of our club with his dignity. Steve has been with us for a vey long time.

Yeah, perhaps Steve is partly responsible. But a lack of height & key power forwards has been a major deficiency for the club over the past 15 years. I am curious why the club continues to fail to address this.
