Seems that the Sharks go in this week as favourites because of our last meeting.  Fair enough, but beware of an ambush.  As I commented last week, the team we beat wasn’t the team that got them to the finals this year.

58, Cl were only missing Martinis mate from memory, he is good mind you.....who else was Cl missing that day?.....

Should be a good contest, not sure EF will be able to repeat that effort of keeping Cl goaless to half time, but agree EF go in as favourites and playing at "home" have no excuses for coming up short other then missing the likes of Boekhorst, Leggett and O'Reilly to injury plus Teakle, Strnadica and Dixon to the AFL.....the side has done a fantastic job to finish 2 pts off top position...

Agree Freeze, great effort by the Gummies given the player hurdles they had to jump. Bill has done a great job bringing this team together, if they had all the guys you mentioned they would be unbackable favourites for the flag. If Bill doesn't get coach of the year, something is wrong. I guess they'll give it to the Peelmantle coach if they run over the WAFL like 2016/2017.

My point was Freeze, that it wasn’t a personnel problem, but I thought it was a problem upstairs in the head.  I don’t think they were switched on - for whatever reason.

Yep, Bill has done a bloody good job, especially with all the barriers put up in front of the club.  I wonder what rock the people that wanted him sacked prior to this year are under????

I don't think there were too many of them. I remember one poster had a crackpot theory about getting Harry Taylor to coach. No proof that Taylor had any desire to coach mind you!  You have to give the coach a few years. So most seemed prepared to be patient. Looks to be paying dividends. The guy has worked bloody hard in my opinion and that was always evident.

Interesting EF climb up the ladder has coincided with a certain posters disappearance from the EF thread. I guess that is the price one pays with success.... no doubt if EF go out in straight sets, our mate will return full of the joys of spring.

Interesting game, I dont think the same CL team that tanked in the last game will turn up this time. Claremont have had these games a few times this year, inexplicably beaten or beaten by way more than expected but if the real Cl turn up they can take any of the other 4 teams apart, which indicates it's all above the shoulders stuff.  I think it will be a really close hard fought contest, EF by 8pts.

Agree SS- last result means nothing- other than EF knowing they can beat the Tigers.

Should be a great contest- too close to call- cmon Sharks!

Definitely need a fast start, Monty and Monaghan would be the only two looking over their shoulders selection wise...especially with Eardley hopefully coming back... ..is big Eddie worth a go against his former club? Though EF have done well playing a relatively small forward line all year.....pity about Teakle too....obviously not being allowed to come back by Port.
