What a massive game- even this early in the season. The Sharks were good for patches against Peel in Rd 1 before getting over-run while Swans dropped a game they were expecting to win.

No teams up yet (what happened to Thurs night team announcements?) but you’d think McDonald (30 touches), Goddard and Monaghan Jr (4 goals) will come under consideration. Reserves and Colts both with tough games against traditionally strong Swans teams.

Great to see Luke Strnadica make his debut also- alot of the comment was that Dixon and him were making up numbers but they’ve both played and Dixon didn’t look out of place. No reason why Strnadica won’t either

And Friday morning at 0935, there are still no team selections being shown. Which is most strange to say the least!

Going off that Schoenfeld article in the West online, Jansen will be back this weekend, also sounds like Goddard will come in as well....would be good if MacDonald gets a look in as well.....who makes way?....or has COVID decided that for the selectors?

Colts wise, good to see O'Reilly and McMillan  selected....definitely  add some much needed height to that EF colts side.

Surprised that both Smith and Bailey are dropped.....especially since SD forward talls  will definitely  stretch EF under sized defence. Perhaps LesterSmith might go back,, but good opportunity  for the likes of SD Noble, Palmer or Ireland taking a few marks up forward....and kicking a few goals. Think Monaghan has missed a trick here, hope to eat humble pie.....pleased Walker gets another game.

Goddard and Teakle should work well together, Teakle more then held his own v Meek last week, hopefully he can continue that form v SD. No surprises Monaghan jnr gets a run....pity MacDonald or Williamson  miss out again.....surprised to see Jesse Cricthton named in the reserves....has he had another rethink?....or perhaps EF are short in the reserves maybe.

Theres also young Thomas Edwards who can take a decent grab in the forward line so I'm a bit surprised that EF have dropped a few talls, maybe they are hoping that their defence can run off some of these guys and catch Swans on the counter?. Also if the East Perth game is any indication, Swans seem to be favouring an uncontested slow build up style of footy which does give opposition defences time to organise themselves..

A little surprising to see some of the names of those dropped. More so Bailey and Tucker  - Smith was a bit quiet last week and Jansen's return more than makes up for his omission. Not so surprised to see Jnr added but good luck to him. Goddard seems like he may be one of those ruckman who drift back into the back half and take a mark. Teakle was named in the forward line so can do the ruck work up front when needed, which allows Goddard to drift back and plug a hole.

Very true Ti Em, I think Tucker is out injured or with COVID, as he is not named in the reserves either.....time will tell if Monaghan gets those selections right.....

Not sure height is an issue with EF, Freeze.

Goddard and Teakle would be over 200cm
Jansen, Marsh, Jupp and O'Reilly would be over 190cm and Leggett, Murphy and Meade must be pushing 190cm.

Palmer is 190, Ireland is 197, Noble is 191, Jones is 196, Germs is 200 and Notte is 194 (all according to the WAFL site).

Shouldn't be an issue but we'll see

Not sure what the East Freo coach said at half time, but something worked. The match looked over at half time. The sharks kicked just over 50 points for the second half whilst keeping Swans second half score to under 20 points. What a huge turnaround there.

Game of two halves indeed....obviously SD losing those outs to COVID helped EF come home strong......that first half by EF was a bit of de je vu of previous.....good effort by the team to dig deep and show some belief to win the game.....more then happy to eat humble pie....well done to the reserves for getting their 2nd win.......and the ladies for remaining unbeaten.
