Yeah true, just assumed Jansen was a  given to play, forgot about his suspension .....never misses too many TBH
No doubt Jansen would be one the first guys picked Freez - his versatility and physicality will be missed. Goddard has been named as an emergency, so could yet play in the league side. Decent enough side, though Schoenfeld would have been handy. Not too many surprises. Luke English named in the centre, Snuffy out on a wing and Cody Leggett moves into the forward line. Junior named as an emergency. Good to see Milan Murdock return from long term injury. Good luck to Chris Walker playing his first league game. Side to play the Dockers is

LEGGETT  MARSH  MURDOCK

WALKER  O'REILLY  MONTAUBAN

BOEKHURST  ENGLISH  LESTER-SMITH

TASSONE  BAILEY  EARDLEY

MEADE  JUPP  TUCKER

TEAKLE  BENNETT  BASKERVILLE

BURTON  GORRINGE  MURPHY  SMITH

There was some really promising signs through the game, I thought they were fairly impressive in patches.  Just a pity that the Dole City Dorks got them across the line.

Looked like the fins fell off in the final stanza... more then competitive till the 15 min mark of the last, then fatigue took over. Some good signs though, will benefit from getting Schoenfeld, Jansen and Goddard in the team....and perhaps one or two of the ES boys....

Yeah there times when we played some very good football but ultimately the intensity wasn't maintained. Rancid last term after going into the last break with a small lead. Earlier ordinary kicking for goal had cost us a bigger lead. The Dockers really dominated at the centre breaks once they got a sniff in the last. The diminutive Peel number 1 Tyrone Thorne seemed to be everywhere and was quite outstanding.

For us Cam Eardley was very good, Boekhurst racked up plenty of possessions but without really being noticed - must be the long hair, Jono Marsh was his usual bull like self. Brynn Teakle did well in ruck - might have a back up next weekend as Goddard looks much too good to be playing ressies. Chris Walker showed some exciting glimpses of his talent. Across the board though performances generally good  Cody's Smith and Leggett, and Snuffy quieter than would have liked. Oh well, on to Bassendean.

When a team has a significant contingent of full time professional footballers ,you can expect them to be fitter and stronger and run over their opposition on a regular basis. If Freo stay fit and covid free, Peelmantle will have a very strong season.

great effort from the boys
shame we were missing jansen & schoenfeld (hopefully he plays some limited minutes in ressies this weekend)
poor kicking from set shots cost us what could of been a handy lead at 3qt time & this gave them a sniff with the breeze & they took it
normally not critical of umpires but umpire shaw made some horrendous decisions against us which were critical
plenty to look forward to

I didn't venture down but watch online and agree with most, there was a lot to like. Disappointing they couldn't hold on but the Sharks didn't take their chances, especially early. Thorne was a thorn in the side, so to speak, but thought Teakle and Meek shard honours, Boekhorst and Eardley were excellent and Jupp took care of Treacy. Big game this weekend now.
