Not quite the same boat - 5 flags and 10 GF appearances since you last made one. Plenty of finals campaigns in that time for the blue and whites - 2 in 40 years for mineral resources? I won't count last season.

According to the Perth boys, we're chasing Luke English, who won the Jack Clark before being drafted by Richmond. Looks like another good addition, should we land him.

I guess English's signature is fair game for all sundry...as was Masten's last year.....not sure English is exactly what EF need though.

He wants to play HB coz his chances of getting redrafted are better if he does.

Not sure what you mean there DF?....considering EF have won fark all since 2000, they still seem to get a fair few drafted mate....actually more then a fair few, compared to some other clubs....hopefully McDonald learns from the mistakes of Stack and Taylor this year when he goes number 1....too good a talent to be on the sidelines suspended for being a dickhead like those two boys....

Interesting DF and the other Perth boys mention "Bills law" about HBF and AFL drafting....pretty sure 3 EF HBF are in the gun for drafting this year in Walker, Carroll and Gorringe....whilst Rivers got drafted last year and has slotted in nicely on a HBF for Melbourne this year....and Shepherd was an A/A this year...playing off a HBF for WCE....

English would be a great addition to our Midfield- which has already been bolstered by the additions of Schoenfeld and Chalmers. I find it interesting that the Mids is the area they're targeting- I thought Eardley, Boekhorst, Jansen, Snadden, Kommer, Bennett ect is a pretty strong group- plus Leggett. Goals have been the issue recently- and though Chalmers is a crafty small forward- with the moving on of Loersch and Strnadica in the Ruck, not sure where goals are coming from.

Decent core group and adding to it certainly won't hurt. Murdoch impressed too last season - seemed to get a bit more midfield time from memory. Should continue to develop next season.

Totally agree KC....Yep the forwards for me will be our sticking point....O'Reilly at FF....Bailey at CHF....not going to get you many goals I reckon....don't think Loersch was the answer in the end, slow lumbering didn't fit into Monaghans game plan....Bonomelli would need to make a meteoric improvement.....need a shed load of goals from our mids....Manning, Kommer, Eardley, Jansen, Snadden aren't goal kickers....yeah English is a good accumulator, but we should be spending 10 points on a mobile tall forward who can kick goals.....
