That lack of effort in the reserves game is surely related to consistent odd selection decisions on Thursday..players being over looked or dropped after one game, yet others keep playing despite mediocre performances....

Griffen drops out and Montuban plays?....surely Watson gets a run to help in the ruck, especially if Strnadica was apparently on 70% match time on Sat....Teakle plays on the back of so so reserves games...yet Bonomelli kicks 5 v Cl...both Teakle and Montuban seemed to have limited game impact....can see why some of those reserves boys are thinking why bother?

Off the top of my head I can see Loersch going (disappointing output due to injury) Bonomelli, Watson, Robinson, Burton, Marshall, Bray and Jackson seeking opportunities elsewhere IF they want to stay in the WAFL...all 21/22....due to limited, none or haphazard opportunities under the current coaching team...very disappointing if happens....Surely Kommer is retiring due to injury, can see Griffen doing the same....

Nothing in the colts to step up in 2021 besides McGrath (194) and Gorringe(mid)..all the rest under under agers and colts eligible for 2021..with B Walker and Carroll draft montys..can't see how any over ager like Crowe, Teakle Muskarovsky etc are going to make the transition from colts to seniors if they are currently ok colts players already despite being 19....gonna really have to do some recruiting to get a list together.

O'Reilly maybe an in, maybe Harry Taylor returns for a year....if WCE reserves disband and players go back to club of origin only JK may play for EF...certainly not Yeo or Shepherd...I guess if we finish 8th we will get first dibs on WCE ES recruits...as Peel won't be taking any....interesting off season ahead of us....in the short term I will be interested to see if EF have enough players to field a reserves team v SD, especially if they lacked interest v Subi yesterday.

Great job and wonderful full game work ethic to Kody Manning
Two weeks in a row best on ground .. this after returning from a ham string injury and reduced match fitness.
Ads grunt and courage to the EFFC league backline.
One of the only players who can kick to another player cleanly .....
what a sad 4th Qtr- almost a best season effort , then CRASH ????

That is a matter of opinion though. Could not be bothered to watch yesterday so can't comment on that match but against the College boys Manning was good and amongst our best.

Considering the coach refuses to play our best 22, refuses to play key position forwards and yesterday a recognized ruckman to be in front at 3 quarter against any side is quite remarkable.

Poor stuff by the reserves yesterday and somewhat worrying.

I can back that up- Manning was outstanding.

Given the results of the Reserves, not sure who is running around there that's in our best 22? And Teakle was lead Ruck yesterday but was hobbling for most of the game so I assume he got injured. Considering the last 4 games have been against sides in or around finals and EF have been around the mark i find the selection issues around the tall bewildering. Strnadica has been injured but is in our best 22- the rest have been disappointing

Both clubs copped some serious knee injuries yesterday in the ressies as well Freez...I saw 3 in the last quarter alone with one to your boys and 2 to ours plus Ryan Borchet had his dodgy knee iced up in the last after kicking 6 goals in his comeback...so not good for either club.

You're probably onto something around the lack of effort. I'm not sure about the Colts coming up but, to me, that list above only has 1 or 2 worth keeping. Maybe good club people but almost all of them wouldn't get League game anywhere else.

Sounds like the reserves match was a bit of a knee blood fest then BC...hopefully no long term injuries there for both clubs....still a concern tho Seth wise when your reserves team kicks 2.2 in the 1st and then 1.0 for the rest of the game.....injury related or not.

It was interesting seeing Strnadica, Loersch and Bonomeli in the ressies today with Bill going for kids. A lot to like but they ran out of puff in the last..Maybe the last 3 close one's for your boys took its toll. I thought we got a pretty good run from the maggots after quarter time...didn't impact greatly on the result but thought your guys were were a bit stiff at times.

the umpires were deplorable & certainly cost us goals including the one just before the 3rd qt time siren
to say we were a bit stiff is a huge understatement
