Loersch and Kommer have been injured more than available during their EF time, both came with injury histories and that is the gamble one takes....

Boekhorst however did an ACL on his EF debut in the first 2 mins, that's farking unfortunate and ACL's are historically fraught with slow and mixed returns...let's not hang the guy yet.

Eardley had been more good then bad surely...Jansen and Snadden less so, though Snadden did an Achilles round 1 last year and didn't come back...

EF recruited Manning fully aware he was coming off a long term injury...another risk one could say...but hey every club goes down this path

Can't fault Griffin, whilst Strnadica was our leading goal kicker, all be it 20 goals, though one thinks he would rather ruck full time then play FF..and with EF shite forward delivery can't blame him...

Davies improved as the year progressed in 2019, so let's hope that continues...Leggett is a good player, Teddy and the Perth boys know that as well...and he will be an asset....Bray and Tassone only young, so time will tell if their recruiting comes off.

Yep agree play the youngsters who will committ, will stuff up but hey that's life....Murdock, Ryan, Baskerville, Bennett etc have had their moments in the sun shining...just got to persist I say...happy to see the likes of Bonomelli, Davidson, Teakle, Watson, Robinson etc get extended runs, but hey only 22 spots available, they played a big part in EF reserves reaching 3rd spot....

I was surprised the likes of Jackson, Warner and Rivers didn't play league last year..all 3 have played top level footy this year...Sharp played a few from memory for EF...but yeah blood some colts kids, but once again only 22 spots...Carroll and Gorringe the only two realistically ready if one goes down that road...both will be drafted.

Sat was rubbish obviously, let's hope by the bye EF are at least 2/2, preferably 3/1....all winnable games v Peel, EP and Perth...but really up to the players to lift....lose to Peel and geez the mood will be low for all concerned....huge game this weekend me thinks.

Cheers for the comprehensive cover Freezin
Re Injuries
Interesting how different players come back from injuries incurred. Some fare better than others and some just don't respond.

Boekhorst: Even after the ACL he seems a little sluggish and off the pace at the moment? sadly the importance of each game in a short season cannot be lost, past injury aside

Manning: I chatted to a mate at WP on his injury before he put the Blue and White on - Hes bloody lucky to be even walking - sheared the PCL off the bone and compressed fractured the Tibia .... and yet Id say he is one of the most committed and aggressive players on the field. No second thought just in and under and what little score we made on the weekend, Manning was a part of most of them...stats don't always tell the complete story.

I venture down to look at Training when I can and to be honest - I don't see what I see at Training transferring to the field
That tells me its between the ears of the players

And Yes - I'd rather a youngin whos committing to the game plan, stuff up and learn, rather than a half commitment by a player who is disingenuous about being in the league
Time to take ownership.....

Looking forward to a turn around this week!!!;)

Cheers for the insight FF2...agree re Wiley, as much as I "spud" him, I do that to wind up the Perth boys...Wiley got hammered injury wise in 2017 and to a lesser extent 2018...interesting what you say about the board, yet your President elect, Monkey Brennan is on the board too.
Obviously I have no previous inside association to the club like you FF2, so I do value your comments, just find it interesting with Monaghans ten year record at WP... winning a flag, few GF appearances and yearly finals appearances, you don't rate him?...EF lost core experience towards the end of Malaxos reign in McGough, ROB, Young, Hadley, Green, Dalziell etc plus the numerous AFL listed boys went to EP and Peel as , well, the club simply didn't adapt like the SF, Cl etc did...

Who have walked out on EF under Monaghan's reign?...Perham & Henson were both end stage careers, Schofield was well known for his antics on and off the field, he and the likes of a few others were suspended for drinking pre Sat from memory...thus moved on...Harding went to Peel in exchange for a few Peel boys, Harding has left Peel since then....Fletcher has become a fiery....others like Cuneo, Hebiton, Creasey etc were steady at best, no doubt good club people....Scott was talented for sure, left apparently after a spray from Bill, but the kid wanted to play AFL back in 2018, missed out on drafting and perhaps lost the desire...who knows...he is the only one of talent who left in my eyes, Schofield was talented but heard not team orientated....

Well seems we have narrowed it down to the problem being the board, the coach and the playere.

Sorry BC have to correct you on that one. Their tuck shop is the worst in the WAFL, maybe on a par with WP. A footy ground where you can't buy a hot dog or a hamburger.

If we can just stretch out the intensity that we have shown for the first 3 minutes of the matches against Subi and South for 120 minutes I reckon we will be allright against Peel.
