I was thinking the same thing cardy.

Where the hell were their supporters? Surely if they were interested they would have been there to here why the club had made that decision.

...or perhaps they dont want to know and will go with the flow or stop being a member altogether. Time will tell I suppose.

Not sure of the membership of said club. Lets say 2000 is a good guess, 135 is not a good attendance. Most at the meeting would have been from the city I would imagine? Not sure how many country members there are but it would have been difficult for those to attend. Some members will not be re-newing but others will join in future.

I would not have thought it to be a good turn up at all to be honest. Look at the last couple of games weher EP have played SD - 2010 finals for example at Basso. They were saying 12,000 - 16,000 people and not all were wearing black and white, there was some blue there too.

Sadly people we are going to have to accept it for what it is.....time to build a bridge and move on. I'm not too happy with the alignment, but i'm f**ked if i'm going to let this stuff up my football season or my life. Whether we like it or not...ground rationalisation and team mergers are going to happen unless WE the WAFL public of WA can organise a shi!t load of sponsorship monies (barring Subi and Souths at this stage with their WCE and Dockers handouts) as well as convincing the shire councils that leaving all of the grounds as football ovals as they are instead of turning them into money making ventures ie land rates etc. Unless this can happen then merging and ground rationalisation is the only way to go.

Tend to disagree mate. The WAFL was starting to improve especially over the last 2 years. Attendances were up and overall things were improving. Maybe because of the efforts of the Clubs and a more even playing field and especially due to the efforts of the Clubs to promote their games with little help from the WAFL Committee. I saw this trend continuing but now the Graph will take a downward spiral due to the changes :(

It was well documented in the Media and also the WAFL clubs and commentators and was spoken about by many as resurgance of our great comp.

Good input though One Eyed Royal even though I think it will Fark up your season!

I have thought about this long and hard (my dad will be turing in his grave)but i love wafl footy and so i am going to choose a new club. i have narrowed it down to West Perth or Claremont. Cannt beleive i said WP but they have real passion and i do like winning so CFC is easy and its closer to home.

Great stuff there astro. Yes, when watching the football broadcasts on television and a WP game is being shown, their supporters sure are a passionate bunch. I've travelled to Perth and seen many games at Claremont Oval and has easy access which is a bonus. For those that can support another team, it sounds good. For me the football is finished :( :(
Unless the WAFL can be saved somehow?

I suggest all WAFL supporters dont post on this thread. What are we going to talk about - Oh yeh we can see how the Eagles guys are going and their chances next week to get selected.
What a load of crap... Wont see me posting on either EP or Peel site this year.
2 clubs who have got themselves into financial strife because of their incompetent Committees and lack of ability or lazyness in organising functions etc to get in the funds.
Watch the big sponsers come on board now they are aligned to the AFL.
I for one will not support any sponsers of either of these clubs and lets hope a few more of you WAFL fans do the same. Send them a email or ring to tell them what you think.

Both clubs are traitors to the WAFL comp and should be treated like the Maggots they are
