Good point Rock.. So EF are 114 years old.
WP are 126 years old.
Other clubs not sure.
The VFL competition started in 1897, and in 1990 it became the AFL
Actually the VFL still exists and clubs are aligned with the AFL teams

So AFL 1990 MAKES IT 22 Years old it was renamed in that year from VFL
West coast got Joined the VFL/AFL in 1987 25 years old.
Dockers in 1995 17 years old

Bottom line the AFL kids who are rolling in money are moving on the Grass Roots comps and destroying these Community Comps as we know them.
Money,Greed and control are their sole reasons. They have a bottomless pit of funds whereas our local clubs have limited funds.

I would love to see WAFL FANS talk with their feet and not turn up at any games at Peel or Leederville (oops sorry). I suspect EP will lose a few members as well. One season should get the message across to the WAFC. Shame after Rushton was done up that no one would turn up.
Oh well I suppose the clubs would get a WAFC handout again.

I will be looking at an alternative on those days just to get my WAFL fix.
If the two AFL clubs become stand alone and the WAFC no longer has the licence which looks like the way it is going the WAFC will cease to exist in its present form. It will most probably be renamed AFL WEST run by a bunch of AFL yes men.

Howson said tonight on 6PR he wants to see the WAFL to become a 8 team comp again.. Gee who is going to be the lucky traditional WAFL team to go? Once again eroding our traditions. He obviously is not point the finger at Peel (the last team to join the comp with little success. The plot thickens

Reading between the lines, am I correct in saying most people departed the information meeting in agreeance with the alignment? Apparently the unhappy people are said to be in the 'minority'? And as such, do not really matter!
Said club will lose some members and probably gain some as time goes on.
Yes I would love to see people vote with their feet and not attend matches involving the aligned teams. Perhaps the other 7 clubs could boycott them too?
But that may be wishful thinking?

Apparently only 135 people attended the EP meeting.

Could that be telling us something?

And how many of the 135 were current players (possibly ordered to attend) take away support staff and comittee , media and interested bystanders etc and the Actual supporter base would of been a lot less... 50 at a guess if you were lucky.
