I was 4 and had not been to a game so I would not like to comment but Sheedy's legacy to Australian Rules far outweighs any other so called Mr Football from other states.
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

I was in the prime of my life at that stage. 1956 EP team was the best I have seen.

The first dynasty was under the coaching of Phil Matson.

Premiers 1919,1920,1921,1922,1923,1926,1927. The five in a row is an Australian record I believe shared with Port Adelaide Magpies.

Runners up-1924.

By mid 1928, East Perth were equal top with Subiaco and East Fremantle. Unfortunately Coach Matson was killed in a horrific car accident and died in hospital.

East Perth fell away from then

Grassy, I think that Sheeds swore on the bible a couple of years later for thumpimg Trizzy Lawrence.
Trizzy was a reserve on the day and came on late in the game and made a beeline for Sheedy who greeted him with a mighty thump.
Despite the bible plea I think he was suspended.

Was Ray Montgomery the umpire?
I have a thought that he was.

Trizzy Lawrenec, good old ankle tapper.
Don't blame Jack, anybody would have done it I reckon.

Pretty sure that it was Monty. He and Sheedy did not exactly see eye to eye on football matters. They had many a run-in with each other.
IMO Monty was the best umpire the WANFL/WAFL ever saw.
Yep Trizzy was an ankle tapper of the highest order.

Agree, Monty was my first umpiring idol followed by Capes.
The 2 umpire system ruined Capes' umpiring IMHO.

As for Lawrence, he did a good job teaching EF players how to ankle tap.
One of my favourite players (Harry Little) had his career brought to an end prematurely by a broken ankle at EF oval delivered at the first bounce by a Bert Thornley ankle tap.

No wonder nobody likes EF.

I dont think Mal Brown was a big fan of Monty's umpiring.
When interviewed this year by Gary Carvolth he mentioned he went to Montgomery's funeral "just to make sure they buried the #@*&"
