Kudo's to the coaching staff for rejuvenating Stan Wrights career,by redeploying him in the backline amd utilizing his kicking, and i think Ol' Barney boy has got the team humming which is no surprise to me.

Congrats EP you played a magnificent brand of football and your boys simply wanted it more.

From a Royals' perspective, there was plenty to like about tonight's game.
We received a lot of drive from our small mobile defenders who were precise with their disposal for most of the night.
I think the turning point was surviving the first 10 minutes of the second quarter with minimal scoreboard damage because the Demons were virtually camped in their attacking half but missed a few getable shots to get themselves within a kick.
The floodgates opened in the second half of Q2, similar to the corresponding game last year.
However, unlike last year, we didn't let Perth back into the game in the second half.
It's been a long time since we had 12 separate goalkickers as we've battled to even kick 12 goals a game in recent years.
Hopefully the boys can now switch their focus to the game against East Fremantle in Northampton.

Thanks DD for those kind words as i have no delight in belting a club thats had more than its fair share of heartache, but we may be a bit better than most people think.I also can't help but notice that there is not much traffic coming through this site from some of the Royals faithfull????

Watched through the Live stream AFL app.East Perth ball movement was very good.Great run from the mids and half backs.
It's well and truly time for a powerful non alignment East Perth to emerge,in the Wafl. When EP goes well  it drives the competition crazy, lol

I just watched the game through the AFL app and it wasn't a half bad game from our boys. Once again the undersized backline was fairly dominate even tho' Busher had 5 shots for misses, even one or two would been significant. The most pleasing thing abt the whole game for me was that we appear to want to attack at all opportunity, it makes a difference especially when you have a CHF, Medhat and a FF who can take and hold marks,Kuek. Our mid fielders have always been fairly good  but the attacking mindset means they know the ball is going to come out fast and in a forward direction.

The ruckman for Perth Baldwin-Wright looks like he can play and between him and AJ Perth should do ok.

Yep I noticed you were the only Royal fancying your chances in 2022 RL and I think you are on the money. I was so impressed with your team I actually applauded as they walked off. That was a football masterclasses of how you should play football. Very impressive..I can see you being a top 3 team in 2022 if they keep that up.

My club on the other hand has got a lot of soul searching to do. Jeremy Barnard should be offered another contract extension if you maintain this form for the next month.

Yes DD although we only won 6 games last year,  there were 4 near miss games that could've gone either way,and i felt our ins were much better than our outs, with Mehdat and Brayshaw being classic examples. We have definitely bolstered our midfield, and with Jones generally giving us first use of the ball,we are not as reliant on Ramsay, and you could see once Byrne got tagged out of the game, that your mob doesn't have the same luxury, and i believe we are only 1 or 2 key position players away from being the total package

Also don't underestimate a sides attitude and mindset, which has clearly changed and you can see how focused the boys are this year, and getting rid of the players with bad attitudes is vitally important if you want to change the culture of your club.

To say I am reluctant to comment but feel the need to is a bit sad really.

Without want to comment for others but whilst the folk I watch the games with are pleased at the wins and the changes made to player stocks and game plan I am not sure we want to get carried away with the results thus far. The Swans game could have easily gone the other way but we showed a level of resilience that has been absent for the past three seasons which begs the question where has it come from. I know as sure as day follows night at least one expert will say having players leave is the reason but that is just a trite response. Is it the introduction of a mentor, the changes to the bench set up and if that is the case, we will leave that hanging for others to respond to!

The change to the game plan so that instead of going backwards at every opportunity is the biggest change but why has it taken three years to change something that clearly was not working and creating more scoring chances for the opposition than us. Having a CHF and a FF  who mark the ball and create in the forward line means that the ball coming out of the backline and mid field is coming with confidence rather than trepidation with the likely outcome.

It is really easy to be pleased two games into a season and I am pleased but when we get to the business end of the season and we are playing finals with a chance of progressing then I will get on the band wagon but til' then I will continue to be reserved in my view of the season.

Oh my grammar checker is broken so I apologise for the poor standard but at least I did not have use any expletives to make a point!
