Firstly a short lesson in being gracious, WELL DONE PERTH and good luck, yoour resurgence is a welcome addition to the WAFL.

The day started in sunshine and end the same. A good crowd and a good colts game played between two sides that have struggled and at times it showed. The question would be which one knew who to win and it was Peel. They lead all day and whilst we challenged they just had enough good players who could control the play. Two players who impressed, one from each. Roy George is worth watching, he has the x factor about his play, some things he did were just out of the box. The second is Jye Amiss at FF for us. He is a year 11 from Busselton and as such misses the training, comes up and plays (like a lot of boys). He is worth watching as he develops his craft.

The reserves game, oops there wasn't one, still a disgrace!

The league game was fun to watch at times, hair pulling at other times but the end result was one that we deserved given the season and how it has panned out. The usual suspects were to the fore with Ramsay, Lynch Kerr and Scott having an impact. The plaudits for me has to go to the backline as per usual they controlled the play and repelled any Peel fightback opportunities.

Now it is down to the ressies to continue our season and with a lot of good play and a smidgen of luck a flag!

As well as perth played it was strange that souths pulled three players from saturdays published side.maskos, wilson and luff which is the entire full back line.wonder if they would have played if they needed to win to make top two position?

Only Souths would know the reasons why they did that. I'm sure that they would realise that messing with winning form is really dangerous just before a finals series. Ross Lyon rested all of his a graders from a final round qualifying game in Adelaide a few years back and that didn't end well for the Dockers

Souths wouldn't be the first club to rest a few before the finals when winning or losing means zippo.

Not bitter at all, congratulations Perth. Well deserve and good to see a long drought broken.

East Perth should of made it on their own terms, East Perth were up by match winning amounts during at least 3 games this season but blew every single one.

Hard to fathom though how an unbeaten side, one that scored a goal in each of the previous 3 quarters, can go totally scoreless in the final quarter.

If you look at South's after their first round romp over their bitch EF, they have been involved in a lot of low scoring encounters. They only clicked into gear in the last qtr against EP the week before.

We didn’t deserve to make it if I’m honest and good luck to Perth. Hopefully they don’t consider making the finals is good enough and actually lift a level. I think we have a better handle on our squad now and will have to shed some dead wood.

I read Paddy McGinnity retired after yesterdays game...kudos on a fine career and he got everything out of himself as a footballer, well played.
