Sounds like the Subi arrogance coming to the surface.
Great win Royals had a feeling you'd win.

I tried to warn a fellow Royal not to put Claremont in his multi as they were no good things......he didn't listen.

Once again went to the game expecting one definite, a possible and perhaps an honourable showing.

The colts played some good football but when you play a fairly high number of 16/17 year olds against a more experienced and slightly older team then what they produced was good.

The reserves side entertained their winning ways with a good win against a very determined side that showed some quality but could not maintain it against our boys. Taylor North, Tom Gorter and Will Young held a backline together that just gives us repeat performances each week. Nathan Arbon and The Rock controlled the middle and our forwards did the rest.

The league game was for me a hard fought one with the backline standing up against a wasteful (which resulted from our pressure) effort in front of goal. The middle was largely controlled by Roberston, Ramsay, Kerr and Lynch who bounced back after the previous two weeks. The forward line is still an issue with Simpson getting the chances but not converting as many marking opportunities as he needs, we rely on Magro and Hille to score but yesterday were larely saved by Matty Young bagging three first half goals.

Our bacon was saved by the backline with Silk Willcocks, Bleeser and Msando being supported by Eaton, Hart, Rudrum and Watts.

Subiaco played well but we just played better and as one luminary said if we could not beat them yesterday we never would and we did!

Good to see that people are not bagging previous coaches, players, Barney, selections , WCE alignment and so forth this morning. Amazing what a win does. A team building for future success. Well done Royals!

Well done to a very determined and more disciplined EP team, I only managed to see most of the last qtr on the stream but it obviously reflected the whole game, Subi continued our atrocious goal shooting, partly good pressure by EP and partly some horrible decision making by our players, some really stupid basic errors many when not under pressure and by some senior players, Apart from the ruck taps most stats were fairly close so we had enough of the footy to win and challenged strongly in the last but butchered numerous attacking opportunities. EP stood up to the pressure and were sure by hand and foot and their big blokes really gave them an advantage against what is a one of the shortest Subi teams in my memory, injuries aside on paper we should have won but EP had other ideas, they are shaping as a very good very tough team for next season.

DF: I don't think they were arrogant towards the opposition; where I think you are right, however, is in the way they played. If you are not playing well as a team, or as an individual, you should avoid trying to do things fast on a football field; if you do otherwise, the opposition will make you look stupid.

For those whom were at other games or did not see facebook, most of our errors came from the really experienced players.

Spot on assessment S.S. we had about a dozen players with around 20 league game experience, and if you take out Nathan Blee our other back 5 averaged around 6 league games experience so we have a HUGE upside looking forward.

Magro, is he the son of Stan?

He is a hard worker, nothing classy but he gives it his all. Blee is classy, special.

Young is good in spurts. Simpson is good but needs to show up for 4 quarters, if he does he is a star.

Ramsay is fantastic. Kerr is a ball collector king. Ajang needs to lose weight, too much conditioning. If he does he can dominate games.

Durtle, I believe Jayden Magro is Stan's nephew, and, yes, he's done some good stuff this year.
He's not afraid to put his body in and has booted at least one goal every game in 2020.
Nathan Blee played a superb game and provides that steadiness in a backline which, apart from Callum Hart, is very inexperienced.
IMO, Matt Young is our best shot for goal and has booted 10 in five games.
In the modern era, a two-goal average from a small forward is pretty handy.
I suspect Eddie Simpson is a confidence player and he'll hopefully have future days where he takes a dozen marks and kicks 4-5 goals.
Given we peppered the Tech School goals early in the last quarter, just as Subi had in the third, I suspect most East Perth supporters had their heart in their mouth when AJ lined up to seal the game from about 30m out.
Thankfully, he converted to give us an unassailable 15-point buffer despite the Lions' goal after the siren.
Jackson Ramsay is the heart and soul of our midfield and Rohan Kerr's disposal was generally very good yesterday.
There's not much of them, but I thought Kye Willcocks and Shayne Hille had good games.
And Nick Robertson gave us some much-needed midfield grunt.
I know Subi were without five of their 2019 premiership players, but I thought every bloke in blue and black did his bit yesterday.
They really had to after the dreadful second-half fadeout against Claremont.
