Have noticed the Wildcats finish in second position at the completion of the regular season. I think it will be the 33rd or 34th consecutive season of competing in the Finals. Quite a remarkable feat.
Sydney, Cairns and Melbourne United are the other teams to watch.
For mine, I think Sydney and Cairns would be favourites. Perth seem a bit fickle when playing away. Having said that, they definitely look better with Martin back in the team. Going to be an interesting finals series.

34 years in a row - not rivalled now it is a remarkable achievement from a club that struggled to just win a game in their formative years and they really were an ordinary lot at best back then
Bruton , Crawford and Pinder started the transformation along with the few stalwarts and Jack Bendat has been truly good for WA sport

Sydney and definitely Cairns will be big games - Cairns have a Perth influence they are the bogey

The Wildcats where at Noranda shopping centre 9 days ago. With a makeshift basketball court set up in the Carpark. The turnout to see them was huge with players taking photos with the fans. And shooting hoops.
Good luck in the finals. On the road matches have been tricky for all NBL sides this year. With the crazy schedules they have.

The Wildcats championship chances are probably going to depend on some big games from Wagstaff and Steindl and a few of the youngsters stepping up due to the wounded Terrico White who will probably play with some pain killing injections.

A big game tonight which they'll need to win as Cairns are a tough proposition at home next week.

Wildcats winning a hard fought semi-final game. Apparently winning the match in overtime. They'll need to be on the ball in game 2 playing on Cairns home court on Sunday. Over the course of the season, Cairns have been playing a slightly more attacking style game. Perth have the ability to wrap it up in the return match but Cairns are no pushover.

It looks like this will be Damian Martins last year. Still a very good defender and ball carrier buy couldn’t hit the side of a barn door at the moment throwing up bricks. Time for the new blood to kick the door of opportunity down.

As expected, Cairns bounced back in game 2 with a comfortable win. Perth looking decidedly flat and finished the match with one of their lowest scores for the season.
Wildcats need to regroup and stay focussed for the third match to be played during the week. If they can get over the line in the deciding game, they are into the Grand Final,
Their Grand Final opponents will probably be Sydney as they look ominous.

Gee what a hiding Melbourne United gave Sydney Kings last night.
Up by 58 points at one stage and went on to win by 45.
I think Perth Wildcats might be in trouble if they cant stop Cairns Taipans scoring machines Machado, Oliver etc because if Cotton is locked down like Game 2 there isnt anyone ready to take up the slack especially Terrico White who just looks horribly out of form since his injury.

Yes ..based on results and form it's looking very much like a MU v Cairns GF. MU should have won the first final and Cairns likewise...in saying that, home teams have won every finals so far so who knows.
