Up by 58 points at one stage and went on to win by 45.
I think Perth Wildcats might be in trouble if they cant stop Cairns Taipans scoring machines Machado, Oliver etc because if Cotton is locked down like Game 2 there isnt anyone ready to take up the slack especially Terrico White who just looks horribly out of form since his injury.

Well that aged well  Cotton held to only 5 points but White stepped up to score 26 and the ever reliable Nick Kay scored 24 to help Perth Wildcats overcome the Cairns Taipans 93-82.
They will have to improve their scoring for mine to beat Sydney Kings who got over the line against Melbourne United tonight 89-85.

An outstanding WA sporting team. Based on their record they are one of the most consistently successful teams in the world I would think.

My thoughts exactly re: scoring. Sydney have been the better scoring side in the first half during the season whereas Perth's first halves have been not as productive. If Perth are within striking distance at ¾ time, they'll be with a chance. Someone was saying Sydney have won every home match where they have had a three quarter time lead.

I think Damian Martin’s days are done. Father Time and injuries have caught up with him. Regardless how the GF series goes I’m looking forward to the next batch of young locals coming through. Cotton will be nationalised soon so that opens the door for the Wildcats to get another import but I hope they give the young kids a go otherwise we are going to see them become stars of the NBL on the east coast.

Wow.
A huge last period from Perth have seen the Wildcats stun Sydney in game 1 of the Grand Final series. Sydney had their chances, and couldn't capitalise in their upset loss.
Suddenly it is Sydney under the pressure as the second match is a Perth home game.
Game 2 will be held on friday.

While history has never won a game, 24 of the last 25 GF series have been won by the team that wins the first game. Fortunately the 'Cats have a decent break before game 2 as Cotton did some big minutes in game one and will need to do the same in G2. Sydney will really focus on him, hopefully the cats big men and the ref's will give him the appropriate protection.

Nah it’s still best of 3 BH. They’ll be going all out to win it at home on Friday night.

Well now I’m thoroughly confused. Susanna Carr said on 7 News the Wildcats can win the championship on Friday Baz. That’s right Sue. The image above indicates it’s a 3 game series backing up 7 but then ABC News Sport says it’s a 5 game series and on website the Roar calls it a 5 game series.

It is definitely a 5 game GF series for the NBL Championship this year DD as the commentators and experts mentioned it during the coverage of the GF on Sunday.
How surprising 7/West media would get it wrong....again! :woohoo:
