That is sad to hear, seems that would be curtains as far as his footy is concerned, just hope he can get his shite together and lead some sort of productive life.

According to the club's website our first preseason hit out is on at 11am this Saturday at Leederville against Joondy with the ressies kicking proceedings off at 8:30. It'll be interesting to see who's up and about amongst the new recruits and returnees.

Looking forward to some real footy action again after a long summer break. Hopefully not too hot on Saturday and club looking to avoid the hottest part of the day. Will be interesting to see who is up and about early.

Yes same for me, just a scratchie but cant wait to see the boys have a run and check out the newbies. Hopefully see you in the clubrooms for a frothy or 3 as it's going to be a warm one around 33deg.
Really looking forward to seeing how we operate with a real rinkydink ruckman, something we haven't had for a few years not since big Stocks.

Yes might be the right weather for a beer on Saturday!
I'm interested to see how we set up in attack with the two Liam's both gone now. Not sure who is going to kick the goals for us this year as it looks like Yarran is also a non starter now. Liked the form of Ben Sokol in the GF last year and hopefully he can carry that on .Would like to see our midfielders get a few more goals this year especially if we do actually win the rucking contests for a change.

Yes...it'll be interesting to see how Schoey structures up the forward half. Remembering we'll have Halligan back unlike last year plus as you say Sokol as well as Clanger, Rhys Waters, Dela will more than likely play the high half forward role and we can throw Rowan Powell into the goal kicking mix as well. I'm also of the view that Horse will play more forward as he gets into the twilight of his career and he's usually pretty good for a couple of goals when playing that role...so there are some options given that these days teams tend to have only one big forward ala Richmond, Geelong and Adelaide.

The boys had a pretty good hit out today. WP certainly made them work hard and it wasn't a bad tussle considering it's the first match of the year. We were missing plenty including Phelan, Hancock, Lockyer, Adamson, Deluca with Cockie in the ressies. Our mids were good and looks like they've gone up another level with better service from Zac Clarke. I thought he was ok and had a good battle with Keunen. Of the newbies, Rohde played off half back and I thought showed a lot...Ben Newton was very busy in the mids and gives us some inside grunt. Rhys Waters did a few good things and kicked a couple but seems to have lost a heap of weight. Our forward line structures will need more work as most on here thought with Dela, Clanger, Sokol and Halligan not taking advantage of the amount of ball going inside 50....all in all a pretty decent kick off and think we'll be competitive once we get a full side on the park.

Score line was very close to 8.9 to 7.8, we only had Nelson x 2, Potente, Guadignan and Alexander out and improved as the day progressed. We still lack in the skill dept that did improve in the 2nd half and we were dumb shits to allow the maggots to give them 5 of there 8 goals via 50m penalties, it was obvious they were hot on that and we didn't respond accordingly. I like the look of Liam Tedesco, big bodied midfielder but he is our only recruit, Johnstone was serviceable. Drew Rohde looks shit in $ubi colours :)
