Senior, from memory we jumped Souths with 4 goals quickly at our most recent clash in round 18.They then rebounded strongly, mainly due to the dominance of big Higgins. We need a bigger, baulkier ruck man in the centre to at least give a physical presence.I reckon Shepheard should open there and use Dela up forward or maybe Stevo who has played there with success before. We do have to start well and yes,we are the fittest team in the comp so Souths would need to be ahead going into the last quarter you would think.I rate Souths highly but whoever loses this game will have their hands full the following week against virtually a Dockers outfit who should account for WP this weekend.

Some big ins like you say, Dela, Kennedy, Sokol all in the mix after long term injuries and I think they'll all play. Of the 8 listed on the bench, Cockie & Hoskins are I think certainties, being a fine forecast Stevo being a tall will probably get the nod if it turns out wet then you'd think one of the mid/smalls will get the nod. Really not much separating Moore, Bryan, Latham, Feathers, or Waters so pretty safe with any of those lads suiting up, will come down to match ups on the day.

Have the flexibility with Dela back to throw Shep on the ball as someone already said, also Clanger, maybe a case of the 4 talls rotating on Higgins and through the 2 key forward positions to really wear him down.

not sure where you got your mail from ToOl but obviously it was wrong...although in saying that h did seem hampered by a knee to some extent.

Fantastic effort by the boys. Kitch was absolutely superb and you wouldn't know the boys hadn't played for a month. Dela made a huge difference as well and was more than competitive against Higgins but had more influence around the ground. Ryan lived up to the excitement machine tag and thought Clang, Horse, Cockie, Broughto, Heals were all very good.

Well done Subi

I thought we were pushing shit uphill once Hams was out.

Regardless we kept it a contest till the 3rd , once you guys broke the game open as you threatened , that was it, I felt had we made the most of our chnaces early in the 3rd we could of fought it out, but was not to be once it opened up it was good night Irene.

I really hope we can beat The Dockers next week otnerwise it could be a souless GF.

yep..agree Bazza..if your blokes had taken their chances at the start of the third instead of missing 3 or 4 relatively straight forward shots the whole complexion of the game could have changed. in saying that, I think we should have been further in front at half time with a score line of 5.7 to 4.0 considering the scoring shots differential..

hopefully you get over FART next with Hams back in and no injuries today that I could see.

Solid win by the boys today against quality opposition. Bit of a rusty start, our goal shooting was poor with just 2 goals from 5 shots and a few out of bounds while Souths took their chances with 3 straight. Second qtr I thought the team really started to work better together and after a spray from Schoey the forwards started to work harder and Dela clicked into some good form. Kitch was dominant in the mids and had 20 quality disposals to halftime. The backs were doing ok but were being stretched by Shaw Johnson & Saunders who worked really hard to create opportunities. Both teams tackling was fierce and a real feature of the game, but we were a bit more effective in applying the pressure from midway through the 3rd when the pedal went to the metal and the game was pretty much done & dusted but only after Souths butchered 4 or 5 relatively easy scoring opportunities by their key forwards. The last qtr was just playing out time with South slightly out scoring us.

Ryan with 4, Clanger with 3 and Stevo with 2 (could have had 5 or 6 if he had found where the side of the barn was in the first half) were good up forward, Kitch was BOG with daylight second, Horse, Cockie and Dela also great contributors, some of Horses disposals and his awareness of where to place the ball was a delight to watch.

We did ok in the ruck with Dela back but Higgins with 43 hitouts and some solid work around the ground was clearly the best big man in the game.

Shep was definitely carrying a leg injury so a bit of a surprise he was picked but now has 2 weeks to get it right, no one else seemed to cop anything so should be cherry ripe for the GF on the 25th.

Must mention young Bradley, you have to feel for the lad after coming in to cover for Dela for a number of weeks, did a really solid job for the team but he'd be the first to admit he's not up to Dela's standard but a fine team man just the same.

The elephant in the room now is clearly Peelmantle with for all intents and purposes an AFL team. I watched the Souths WP game and apart from part of the 2nd qtr Souths did it quite easily, now Peel have done a similar job on WP with a similar margin so that may indicate that these 2 teams are very evenly matched. It will be played at Freo oval which is absolutely no advantage for South as it is the training base for all the FART listed players who would train on it at least twice as often as the Souths boys so maybe it's an advantage for them. I, like 99.95% of all other WAFL people will be right behind the Doggies next Sunday hoping they can remove the last festering sore from the finals and we can look forward to a WAFL GF. I could deal with a loss to the Doggies but would not be able to accept a loss to FART especially after their ridiculous cheating venue changing antics mid season.

Fridge was brutal around the packs again, his strength and ability to get the ball out was great to watch. Liam worked his magic up forward again, it's unfortunate that we will only see him in maroon for 1 more game as I've heard whispers that he's heading east. Kitch was just unstoppable BOG by a mile. Clang did well in the ruck and went forward to kick a few very important goals. Stevo presented and marked well but can look forward to 2 weeks of goal kicking practice.
