Souths have taken the 1 week ban for Hams so he'll be available for either/both the prelim and the GF depending on results. Massive loss for the Doggies, he was just about BOG in the qual final, his disposal was immaculate.

He had to Seagull. The penalty could not be reduced to a reprimand. He would serve 1 week even if he challenged successfully. Why risk 2 and miss the Prelim or GF.

Surely Sokol will be a cert to play this weekend?....what better incentive to kick a few against your old club in a final....didn't he kick a bag v SF earlier in the year?

Correct BC but he's only had the one ressies game back after the injury so it would be a bit of a gamble, but when he's on, he a real handful and would be full of confidence and commitment against his old side. Another chance to make a statement.

I see in today's paper Dela looks like he's coming in. If he's been in full training for the last couple of weeks you'd think they'd use him off the bench into the forward line. That's probably a good option to give shep and clanger a spell.

off the Subi website...

Subiaco are set for the first hurdle in their 2016 WAFL Premiership push as second placed South Fremantle visit Medibank Stadium on Sunday.

The Bulldogs dismantled West Perth in the first semi final and will enter the game with confidence. Subi have had a two week break and despite the absence of games head coach Jarrad Schofield is confident the club have prepared adequately.

“I think we've prepared ourselves as best as we can. Was it ideal to have a bye the week before the finals, who knows, I guess we’ll find out 6 o'clock on Sunday,”

“We definitely haven’t been on a holiday. we’ve used the time to the best that we can and there’s a few things we’re hoping to roll out against South Fremantle.” said Schofield

“The break also gave us an advantage to prepare. We had the opportunity to go watch South Fremantle vs West Perth. We definitely haven’t switched off, we have prepared ourselves not only physically in match simulation type of training but mentally as well.” added Schofield

Schofield and South Freo coach Todd Curley were in attendance at the WAFL Finals press conference at Domain Stadium yesterday and Schoey mentioned the dramatic facelift his Subi side has undergone.

“I don't have the exact numbers but we’ve had at least half of our side change from last year through retirements and the AFL Draft so we see it as a healthy environment because the next players are eager to create their own success.” said Schofield

Schofield also highlighted the selection headaches the coaches were set to face with key utility Lachlan Delahunty set to return for his first game since Round 13.

“He’ll play, I’m not going to hide that fact. We could have played him on the weekend in our reserves side for some match fitness but decided to wait,”

“He’s been itching at the bit to get back on the field for the last three-four weeks. He’s been training hard, his GPS data is tracking really well and he will be a big inclusion for us,”

“We’ve got a long night of selection ahead with about 28 players which we could choose from.” added Schofield

yep...and Halligan is back on the park as well but don't reckon they'll take the risk with him. it's a shame these guys couldn't have returned a few weeks ago ...we'd only be missing Madut and Scotty Hancock long term if that was the case...

It's all about how well we start, we saw Souths dazzling first 15 minutes of footy last week which pretty much was the difference on the day, WP were in catchup mode for the rest of the game. Apart from the recent game at Kingsway, we have been notoriously slow starters, cant afford to do that against the Doggies, they will be chock full of confidence so we need to be right with them in the first half, after that results have shown that our fitness usually allows us to dictate terms late in games, hopefully that will be the case on Sunday.

Dela will be a massive in as BC said he can give Clang, Brads (if he's not the one making way for Dela) & Shep a breather plus another mobile tall for the Souths backs to worry about. Also allows Clang to go back if Jackson or Locks are having trouble with the two Souths key forwards. Hams missing is a huge plus for us, that's 35+ high quality possessions and a heap of free kicks they wont get but their midfield is quite deep, plus they will get first service from Higgins who dominated the rick last week against real quality in Keunen.
