yes we did sbd...and I've already said we were our own worst enemy but I still think chunder pulled a swifty by calling the WAFC and raising it as an issue so they could get all 3 Freo emergencies available for the Sunday game given there's a general bye in the WAFL next week for the state game.

BC interested to know, did Subi has any say in calling the game off or was it all Peel aka dockers?

hey mate...no Subi wanted the game to go ahead. Schofield said that Cam Shepherd and the FART footy manager rang the WAFC and complained about the state of the ground. Subi were suited up and going through warm ups right up until 2pm when it was called off. I was sitting in the stands and an announcement came over the PA that the game was cancelled and the Subi players stayed on the ground for about another 10 minutes or so in disbelief.

Deboer and Mzungo would of played anyway there were three emergencies, no way they would of held three over they name three for over east games and only ever travel with one, using that for calling the game off is absolute rubbish.

mikeh I don't want to seem rude but you are being particularly naïve or delusional if you think the WAFC will ever do anything against the wishes of the Eagles or Dockers. One can only hope that when there is a change of government at next year's state election the incoming Labor Government sacks the WAFC in its entirety and replaces it with people who will ensure the integrity and long term future of the WAFL. Note I said the WAFL not the DISGRACE allegedly being considered AFLWA.

If it becomes the AFLWA then we should also get rid of the Sandover and Simpson Medals because it will have NOTHING to do with the WAFL. Is it possible for the WAFC to be more contemptuous of the WAFL competition, clubs and supporters? Perhaps the only way that could happen is if they remove a legitimate WAFL club from the finals and replace it with the Eagles' reserves team.

Swan your right this AFLWA idea is an abomination. maybe each club could poll it's members to acertain which name the comp should have ... WAFL with all it's rich history or AFLWA with no history or local relevance. Also petitions could be organized by each club to get signitures from non member supporters at each game so the Commission get a clear idea what the punters who go along each week want.

I'm still confused as to why the reserves game was cancelled and both teams given 2 points but the league teams had to play. Why didn't they cancel the league game also, or why didn't the ressies have to play?
