Not true.

Ashton Williamson played the whole game. Ended with 17 disposals and 27 hit outs. I watched the entire game.

Thanks for that mate.

Why are the points shared (2 each) for the cancelled reserves game if it was Peel who declined to play?

Surely that's a forfeit isn't it?

There are no guarantees in footy but Peel's reserves side are 1 and 9 v Subiaco 6 and 4. Subiaco would have been clear favourites.

Will be crucial in the make-up of the final 5.

There's an old saying ... "truth is the first casualty of war" that applies here as far as Peels statements go, they say an opportunity to cheat and took it.

Schoeys comments are right on the money, Subi were ready to play, he walked past me as we were leaving Leederville on Saturday and he was furious. Talking Footy nailed it in his post saturday when he raised the idea that this was all manufactured so Peel could get their Freo emergencies in. I don't know the rules or protocols for this situation or if there are any but the team lists for Saturday baring late injuries should have remained in place for Sunday. If there are no protocols then they should be established asap because rest assured this cheating lying mob will do it again.

Ben you'd also have to ask the question why the ressies wasn't played on the Sunday before the League? I know the 18's game was fixture then but that could have been moved to any of the WAFL venues that were all available on Sunday, Lathlain would have been the closest and most sensible option.

Ar ,,,SF have showed plenty so far,Subi are still undermanned atm,,If Wp beat the Ferals today Ep are gone in 16.East Freo and West Perth look like the two wildcards in this.Is Rob Wiley the Wafl recruit of this year.
The younger Docker players are starting to show a bit at Afl level. That gives Peel a strong stable line up for the rest of this season. If Peel can get home finals with an armchair ride into the GF.Yesterday was a huge win for Peel as they probably would of lost at Medibank.

Subi's last game of the year is a home game for that joke at Mandurah. If our position on the ladder is settled perhaps we should just not play to do whatever suits our team? Seems you can pick and choose. Or rest our top 18?

I think that the teams should have gone in on Sunday as named half an hour before the game on Saturday. The Fremantle emergencies should not have been allowed to play. The WAFC should make sure this never happens again to protect whatever integrity is left in the competition which is not much mind you.

Oddly enough, Leederville used to have the best surface in the league. I'm pretty sure it never even had a cricket pitch as quite a few of the others did including Subiaco Oval.

That was until Mick Malthouse and the Eagles added a foot of dark muddy soil on top of the original very hard almost limestone-ish (If anyone played there they will know what I mean) surface. So as to emulate a VFL style ground.

I doubt the turf would ever need replacing if the old surface remained.

Spot on Ben, Wet Toast should foot the bill to bring the oval back to what it was and avoid any future problems with the surface. We all have seen how the goal to goal line deteriorates rapidly once the rains come, given the very high use the surface has due to ground sharing with the Ferals. Bring back the old well draining sand/limestone base that most WA ovals have and we wont have these situations where certain powers that be can manufacture a situation to suit themselves.

Leederville oval was a very important athletics centre back in the day with a top notch grass running track where major meets were held, so the surface must have been first class.

Haven't been as pissed off by a loss for a long time. This was a game that we should have won and it seems like we were robbed.
In saying that the two main reasons we lost were the three defensive errors that gave them three goals in the third quarter and the inability to turn a large portion of the possession in the forward half in the last quarter into goals that would have made the game safe. Peel probably ran out the last ten minutes better than us and you could say that was due to having afl fitness levels but I don't think that is right. We lacked the finishing skills up forward, Bootsma did a good job all day on Liam Ryan and I was also impressed by Blair Bell for peel.
The umpires were below average but we are used to that anyway.
Given the fact that we have a few out at the moment I thought we played ok and look forward to meeting Peel again in the finals when the dockers all go off on holidays!
