Beasley Hutton wrote: What if Swans, Perth, SF or EF clubs with very large passionate supporter bases that have had a very lean trot in recent times made the GF against another big supported club? ..there would be 25-35k wanting to attend and we would be turning 15-20k away from watching their side live in a GF gee that would be a good look for the WAFL ...not!!
The facts are the 2 miniscule supported clubs $ubi & Claremont between them have only missed a GF in 8 of the last 35 WAFL GF's ...the general footy public in WA is bored shitless of those 2 clubs playing in the WAFL GF you only had to see how few patrons (approx 500) stayed for the medal presentations ..that is fact!

Despite the weekend and lead up being a 110% AFL wankfest I still expected around 18k to attend given the weather, where were all the Joondy faithful, such a well supported club with such passion. We all know Subi has a small supporter base but very surprised with the effort of the Joondy supporters. BH you are kidding yourself re the "500" if I wasn't such a tech dinosaur I would figure out how to post a photo I took of the crowd during the medal presentations, there were at least 2 - 3k watching.

As for the game I guess it was as most expected, WP out of the blocks and a slow start by Subi given the 1 game in nearly a month. We were very rusty for the first qtr and a bit, almost a carbon copy of the 2nd semi. Mena was quiet early but once he switched on the rest of the team went to another gear and it was curtains for WP. Important to recognise just how good Joondy have been given their draw leading up to the finals and so many games in a row, something that Horse made mentioned of in his speech. That needs to be addressed in next years fixtures plus going back to a final 4 is essential.

Our two key forwards had a day out with Boland kicking 7 and Yazz 5 which could have been 8 if he'd converted better but both worked really hard, consistently presenting and got good service from our mids. Our two rucks in Clang and Dela had the better of a tired looking Keunen who as usual ran his heart out for his team. Clangers work around the ground was outstanding. Our mids spread the load really well with Mena gathering 30, most of those after 1/4 time and the rest all in the high 20's plus we hit-up targets much better than recent games. Thought Wortho and Lockyer were outstanding down back, both read the game beautifully particularly Locks. My best were, Lockyer, Boland, Clang, Yazz, Robbo, Horse, Wortho, Kitch, & Mena, plus a special mention to the great man himself Darren Rumble in his last game (and 6th premiership medal) keeping the very dangerous Lourey to just the 1 goal, although he did alternate some time with Lockyer.

Great time in the clubroom after the game which was packed to the rafters, great that for once most of us don't have to work the day following the GF. I think it's an indication of how us Subi tragics rate Joondy that it was a bigger and more vocal crowd in the rooms post game than last year, as we got the '95/'03 monkeys of our backs.

Another season over and one that will be remembered more for the off field antics than the on field stuff, lets hope that's all behind us and with a final 4 we get a much better more competitive finals series than this year ... not that I'm really complaining!! Carn you mighty Lions.

SS there were hundreds of $ubi supporters leaving the ground at the same time as me whilst the presentations were on 2-3k still there as you say from the official 13k is laughable it was miniscule. The fact there were $ubi fans leaving early showed to me how little it means to them fair dinkum if that was Swans or Perth or even Freeze's mob we would have jumped the fence to celebrate with the boys. As I have pointed out on another post between $ & C who have the smallest supporter bases by far you have only missed 8 of the last 35 GF's, yeah we know you guys dont care as your mob are dominating but the general WA footy public are bored shitless with the dominance of the 2 near Western Suburb neighbours ...that is a fact that cannot be denied!

here's a suggestion BH...get better.... then you won't be bored shitless with the dominance of Subi and Claremont.

You are an absolute tosser BH! Go suffer in your jocks! Why didn't you grab the $9 on offer for Subi to win the flag before the season started like I did? The only premiership your mob have won since 1990 was the flag you absolutely bought in 2010. Pretty pathetic and that's a fact you cannot deny!

Give us your bar for a year and we or any other club will improve.
Any other club would love the $$ to invest in fitness, coaches and cherry pick players from other wafl clubs or other leagues.
Good luck to Subi but to suggest it's as simple as other clubs having to improve to match Subi is rather stupid.
We could improve and still not get within 10 goals as no doubt as best players will get offered to move to Subi again like other clubs.
Schofield is an egotist who will get exposed if he ever has the guts to move to the afl like the other Subi coaches.

BH you see it as you do through your rabid anti Subiaco eyes and I see it as I do from my pov, we'll agree to disagree while I try and get my 8 yo grand daughter to show me how to get that photo on this site.

And of course your right, they need to change the rules so only SD & P can play in GF's, never mind if they win any games, that surely will be in the games best interests. Maybe if your mob hadn't pissed massive amounts of money up against the wall you would have continued to recruit interstate players like the ones that won you your '10 GF and maybe won a few more. So off you go up the Swan valley and find some more sour grapes to suck on.

I reckon that's the answer SS...the bogans play in every GF automatically and the rest of us battle it out throughout the year to be their opponent.

Why do you actually think Swans recruited half a dozen blokes around 2008 fellas? Could it be we had 20+ of our very best youngsters drafted into the Vicco League from 2007-2011? We would have been non competitive without recruiting back then, the fact we were able to pinch 1 flag is hardly an indictment now is it? Now compare that to $ubi who wouldnt have had more than a handful drafted in the last decade but continually recruit nonetheless not to just be competitive but to be absolutely dominant as was pointed out by Schofield in his interview on Sport FM on Friday, developing their own isnt even on his radar as that is too hard damning really for a senior WAFL coach!

With the amount of coin $ubi spends on recruits year after year from Interstate & other WAFL clubs whilst showing zero interest in their own zone as pointed out by a frustrated LH anything other than a Premiership each year should be deemed a failure!

And in tonight's news DuckHeads are yet again dribbling shit about crowd numbers, clearly embarrassed and trying to distract from their own failure of a club.
