I have a question about the alliance. If East Perth Eagles make the finals but the West Coast Weagles don't are all of the AFL sides players available for Esat Perth in there finals campaign or is it just the players that quailify throughout the year as per past years?

What happens if the EP Eagles don't make the finals (most unlikely as the comp is rigged to ensure this does not happen) and the AFL Eagles are still playing late into the finals, half their squad will not be eligible to get any match practice. Do these players then play for other WAFL sides???

My understanding is, if EP make finals and WCE don't, then any WCE listed players have to have played a minimum of 5 games for EP to be eligible for finals.

If both sides are playing finals on the same weekend the games played at EP for WCE listed players to be eligible for EP finals is 1 game.

You'd expect this scenario will happen with Freo and Peel. I guess it would be similar to what happens with VFL sides not in finals aligned to AFL clubs that are ..... They train but don't play.

Will be interesting to see what happens with any WAFL qualified players who need end of season surgery if the AFL team doesn't make the 8 but the WAFL club makes the 4. Do they go straight away or possibly jeopardise their pre seasons which we continually hear are super important. How would EP fans feel if qualified Eagles opt out of WAFL finals to prepare for next year. It's an ugly question I know. Lets hope as footballers they put their love of the game first no matter what level it's at, if they indeed are offered the choice.

DW, I expect that will be the case as it has been in past seasons, the AFL teams don't give a rats arse about WAFL and would not think twice about restricting their players who need surgery. They have only one priority and that is understandably themselves. The Royal Eagles have made their bed and must deal with what ever the WCE decide to do with them, tragically they are no longer their own masters.
