What a gutsy effort!! No bench left in the last quarter and we still had the fitness to hold off a team full of full time professionals. Bristow was fantastic, my pick for BOG kicking 2. Hildo ran hard all day going toe to toe with Morabito. Stevo was fantastic down back, with Rumble missing he was playing on a bloke twice his size but spoiled well and ran off him out of defense. Great spread of goal kickers with no passengers, great team effort again. I usually like to keep both eyes open when it comes to WAFL umpires but yesterday it was so blatantly obvious that the team formally known as Peel were being given an armchair ride and they were 100% under instruction from the WAFL. How the hell can it be holding the ball if a Subi player is taking a free kick, takes too long and gets called to play on but gets his kick away cleanly as he is tackled??? It was very very obvious that they were under instruction which is a disgrace.

Forgot to mention Hampson had another ripper, so too did Phelan, Delahunty and Wheeler had a great second half. Looked for you in the stand Ben but couldn't find you.

At the three quarter time huddle J Deluca looked to have his thigh strapped but didn't seem too bad heard him say they were just playing it safe. Kennedy looked like he did his shoulder badly which is a tragedy because he is a real gun. Davey was carried off with what looked like a lower leg. Horse got through the game ok but had his boots off and ice on his knee in the final quarter

RESERVES
Subiaco 17-22 d Peel 6-5
Goals: Clarke 7, Daniels 3, Kerr 2, McDougall, Stephen, Bestry, Fetherstonhaugh, Smythe 1
Best: Clarke, Blechynden, Berryman, Daniels, Heal, Moore, Fetherstonhaugh, Scafidi, McDougall, Le Fanu, Stewart, Madut

Another good win to the ressies led by a live-wire Dylan Clarke who kicked seven goals. He is the best kick of a football come through our colts since Daniel Rich. In fact he's probably a little more accurate. If Josh DeLuca is unable to take his place in the league side next week, Clarke has certainly put his hand up.

Ray Daniels made his comeback from injury and also played a very good game deep in attack.

Reece Blechynden was excellent once again and all his possessions hurt the opposition. Simon Moore worked hard all game to finish with 30+. Bill Fetherstonhaugh was another in the midfield that saw plenty of the footy.

Keep an eye on Joe Scafidi. He is another Mines product. He hunts the footy at centre bounces and loves contested situations. In his first season up from colts he now has collected 20, 18, 21 and 26 possessions in his first four reserves games.

Big David Madut played another good game and is now starting to take some very strong marks at this level. A really good sign.

Andrew McDougall played his first game after injury and was immediately on song.

Down back Aaron Heal stood up well. I don't know too much about him because he didn't come through our colts but he looks like a good player to me.

Stuart Berryman played his best game of ressies. Charlie Le Fanu was tough and broke lines. As did Nathan Stewart while Declan Jackson, the heir apparent to Darren Rumble at full back, continues to develop. He was last year's colts captain. Is as strong as a tank and plays a smart game.

Yeah Horse seemed OK just playing it safe, he played OK for his first league game back but well below his standard. It was Bristow that was killing it in the middle.

No luck for Kennedy. The number of times I've seen the bloke carried off the ground in agony just in last year's colts and this year's league is incredible. Feel for the lad.
