I'm not sure what to make of that given we were still missing 10 from last year's GF although Claremont had more missing. We were beaten through the middle and their transition from defence into their forward half was much better than ours. We were slow and overused the ball whereas Claremont were much cleaner and more direct. Aaron Heal was superb, Dela, Kitch, Giro and the Hickmott's had a crack, Sokol and Borchet were starved of opportunities but still managed to kick a few. Jordan Lockyer got towelled up by House which was very unusual and some of our young blokes struggled. I thought young Breman tried hard and Corey Robinson had his moments. 0-2 for the first time for 20 years so hopefully it won't be 0-3 next week against the jerkers. On another note, I spoke to Jack Mayo at qtr time and he confirmed he's gone for the year with another ACL. Terrible news for the young bloke. On the bright side, Michael Braut said he hopes to be back next week. With a bit of luck we'll also get Dewar and Stainsby back from Covid protocol as well. It's fast looking like we need our best 22 on the park to be competitive so fingers crossed they start getting up in the next few weeks.

Only saw the second half. Nothing to add BC . Agree with all your points. Big win for the young tigers.

We were terrible coming out of defence. Just kick the thing if you're exhausted.

Sorry DD.  I just type the bloody thing and don't worry too much about formatting etc but will space it out from now on so old blokes like yourself don't struggle to read it.  :-)

We'll get back Gus Dewar, Kyle Stainsby, Michael Braut, Harry Marsh, Jacob Atkinson, Chad Harris and Drew Rohde as they've been to games in full club kit.  I'm not sure about Max Walters or Hayden Kennedy as I've not seen them and obviously Mayo is now a confirmed out.

Very interesting to note how a WAFL club can absorb 14 personnel losses and still manage to come up trumps, but i suppose therein lies a tale when we reflect on zone distributions. If my club lost 10 players in one hit we would get obliterated like Mariupol in the Ukraine.

Therein lies the story of 2021 for the DEES.
I think we had as many as 14 out.
hence our horrific 11 straight losses to end the year.
We have not had any tangible depth for decades.
Some good came out of it, some good kids got some time.
BC check your list from what I see some of your guys are ageing.
Not as good as they used to be.
I am not so sure 2022 is going to be the one horse race people think.
And not sure your gun recruit is a gun either.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

Spot on, RL, though C reserves felt the brunt of having so many players taken up to league. Much the same can be said about S. Despite two losses, they have been very competitive in each, while other teams with so many first choice players missing would get flogged. S fans shouldn't panic yet about the 0-2 start. WP are likely to also start 0-2, coming up against Peel today without Black, Keitel and Meadows, but I'd still expect both S and WP to feature in finals. The key for the lower teams is to bank some wins before the big teams get their first pick teams back on the field.
