Most people on social media think we have it in the bag again and the usual flood of sookin is rife. Hope the team don't buy into it, we have all seen many a good side fk up in this way, and we have been pretty hot and cold with form, alot of times in the one game! Good win, but remember our worst is terrible

Subiaco had crushed the game as a competitive  contest by half time and were in pretty much cruise control after then. I agree that they have been a bit up and down this year compared with 2018 and 2019 but they seem to be able to switch into a mode of complete domination when they are playing well which can totally demoralise an opposition and you could see it happening again in the First half yesterday after Souths had started quite well.
I think it would be a massive upset for Souths or Claremont or West Perth to beat them at Optus in a fortnight. I just hope that we get some sort of a competitive game unlike the embarrassments of 2018 and 2019.

Going into cruise control is the problem. If it wasn't for a great smother it would have cost us top spot

Souths were badly hampered by injuries to a couple of key players, Florenca was done very early after just one disposal and he's arguably their best mid and their skipper Main looked not fully fit right from the start and had to spend most of the game up forward, so that limited their interchange and they looked gassed in the last qtr. Only need to remember back to the first game v Souths when we lost Walters and Powell early on and we lost that one. hard to pick too many individuals as it was very much a team performance, but Clark, Mayo, Dela & the back 6 were super important. I was curious as to why Souths didn't play their big young ruckman Free who has been dominant in recent games, sufficiently to keep Higgins out. They still easily won the hitouts, Higgins was very good, a real bull in the packs, but Dela had his measure around the ground , but came off in the last looking pretty sore after Higgins gave him a real going over, nothing untowards, just hard contact at every bounce. We will benefit from the week off as it was a very physical game, the tackling by both teams was super aggressive.

Our key to success is our backline which has been a stable unit for several seasons they work like a single well oiled machine.
Our first qtr was some of the best footy we have played this season, along with the early game v CL. After that it tightened up, ebbing and flowing but Souths looked like they had shot their bolt by 3/4 time after a big 3rd qtr comeback. Jack mayo was sensational in the first half, playing perfect CHF footy, if he didn't mark it, he brought it to the ground and Matera was working hard at ground level. Jack kicked 2 and gave off 2, his disposal was first class. if he has a big GF, I dont think we'll have him next year, word is that WC are having a very hard look at him and Clark, along with the colts youngsters Johnson & Robinson who were amongst the best in the ressies wins. Sounds like we wont have them for the ressies prelim with the club giving them premission to play in the 19's exhibition match curtain raiser for the AFL circus.

Yeah- must be thinking of someone else. Robinson hasn’t played League for 3 seasons and must be 22 or 23. He’s not getting drafted

Corey Robinson is 21 from Marist JFC, so maybe my mistake that he would be playing colts, perhaps under the over age rule? He's played ressies most of the season.

Mat Johnson is 18 from North Beach JFC.

DG- correct mate, South was uncompetitive, particularly in the first half.

Good to see $ubi ressies win the flag in the perth league. Kyle Halligan and Rhys Waters dominating for the premiers kingsway. Halligans knee trouble must have improved, it would be nice to have him back and bring Braydn Furmark with him, a bit of a gun apparently

DG, a couple of PFL teams have benefitted from getting former Subi players. Scarborough did well with Shuff coaching them with a number of former players to a flag recently.
