Thanks for the reports boys couldn't make the game due to minor day surgery, sounds like a slog after a good start, I rate Joondy, if it was a fine day on a fast track, they are a different story and finals are usually those sorts of conditions.

Now for the College boys down on their apartment block courtyard. Should be far better ground conditions than poor old Leedo that currently resembles a 1970 VFL ground. Will see if I can get a replay on FRS.

Yes it was a dominant display in the first half SS with something like 19 inside 50s to 3 in the first qtr alone for a pretty ordinary return of 4.8. Brandon Matera missed two sodas directly in front and only 20 meters out, and big Braut ran into an open goal only to miss as well from 15 meters. The ground was a bit soggy up the middle with a couple of water patches down the members end but was dry otherwise. Some of our transition work out of defence was first class and skills in general very good. Joondy got a couple of cheap ones out the back on the rebound as our defence were pushing up very high and Keitel and Knott were pretty well covered for most of the day. Shut down Keitel and Knott and they struggle to score.  The other thing I noticed was that Max copped a couple head knocks during the game and was talking to the Dr during the last qtr.  I hope he's ok but he didn't seem too happy about it all.

Cheers JL. I walked through the social hall after the final siren and a big crowd in attendance even then. We just need Matty Boland and Rhys Waters back in the club to give the jerker players a bit of hurry up. ;-). Now wouldn't that be some entertainment.
Haha the good old days when we won everything including the fights

Our improved form is primarily due to our backline and the return to their dominant team defence style that has served us so well over the last 6 or 7 years. The last two weeks we have taken on two teams with quality attacks and controlled them well but as I said both those teams will be far better on a fast dry track in late September, early October, and on their day Claremont are just as good so the finals will be very interesting. The club has taken the opportunity to give Dela a big rest so he will fit as a fiddle for the lead up to finals. Matera senior has improved each week, sounds like he could have kicked 7 or 8 but 5 in the current era game is a great effort. He will attract the best medium small defender each week now, taking some pressure off Sok. Junior Seagull said Sok dig a lot of grunt work up forward, he is such a strong body and always prepared to do the team stuff.

DG wasn't it Boland and Halligan that had the Joondy boys hitching their skirts up and running for cover?

Haha yes it was mate, I think Waters was involved also. Gave them a right flogging too, so the story goes, pity someone didn't film it on their phone

We have a couple of good backmen in the magoos on the verge of promotion according to Daz Rumble. Henderson and Mullane. They are both pressing hard along with Mayo and Golding, but the only possible ins for next week are Kennedy and Dela according to Rumble

Hahaha...yes SS...I remember it was all 3 involved and the dust up was over a sheila apparently.
Boland took on all-comers and had them heading for the hills I'm led to believe.  Classic stuff.
