Apparently went to Adelaide on a work trip and went over the border into country Vic to see his mum just as it was shut down. Arrived back into WA and has to serve out 14 day isolation which I understand ends on Monday. Bad luck for mine as who knows when borders are going to snap shut and family should always take priority over WAFL footy.

I agree LH. Give them ( Narkle and Golding) a go and see what they can do. There is only a half a dozen qualifying games to go. You know what they say, if you don't give them a go, you'll never know. I personally like Joshua Robbins. He chases and keeps chasing, seems pretty quick, has kicked a goal or two. Don't mind Putt either.

the only bit I could add in would be that it's opportunity weighed against stability - good players will earn their spot eventually and some have to wait a little longer for their chance , that's just footy

it's the biggest shitcan of modern football mate - losing good lads seeing them drift away
indigenous players are a wonderful gift you cannot refuse they offer magic and skills that aren't taught

These are different times mate. It's not like the 70's, 80's, 90's when it was a lifelong dream to play for Subi or Souths.

Kids nowadays have better things to do and they will bail if not given opportunities. Sure, some stick around, but often they are the ones who understand that they aren't that good and are just happy to be in the squad.

Subi, to my understanding, lost 9,10 or 11 players a few weeks ago. That's gonna impact us later...not now...later

Moreover "some" supporters at Subi think that playing an aboriginal kid is a risk. Goes back years. I'm tired of it.

Gee LH...where did you hear that?  I know they lost a couple to ammos before the June 30 deadline but wasn't aware so many had gone in one hit.

What’s with the indigenous comment LH? I don’t really follow. I know Subi don’t have a great history of aboriginal stars like some clubs. Ali Pickett had huge respect though.

There you have it. Putt for Atkinson is the only change. No imagination or risk taking by the selection committee. Just same old, same old. No wonder the kids are leaving.

Yeah it's frustrating, I just hope the coaching panel have had long chats with guys like Golding, mapping out what they have in mind for him and guys like Narkle.

LH, of those players you mentioned, Powell is due to injury, Upton is 30 and sadly prone to injury, Miller is a solid player but been around the club for many years, would not be surprised to see him pop up at another club next year, Vanirsen is the one that troubles me after seeing what he did in the colts last year and his stellar performances in the finals plus winning the Colts medal and GF BOG medal.

I think Clark is a big chance for the Sandover as his play is more eye catching than Kitch who is an in and under contested ball beast, he will be our next club captain once Kitch hangs up the boots, that is if he doesn't get drafted, there are a lot of whispers around him at AFL level, he's a big mid, has a big tank, good on both sides and a touch of animal when needed. The AFL clubs are now more than ready to look at mature age players, guys like Kelly, Ryan, Menagola to name a few.
