If you mean the DEES SS not sure we can claim favouritism.
Haven't beaten you for decades and JT reckons we don't work or train as hard as you guys.
Subi by 6 goals I reckon.

My previous post was to remind you not to go Optus (Eagle Park) but to head to Lathlain.
Otherwise you will miss the game.

Hardly an upset at Claremont.

Hope some of you guys had a spare ten or red one in your pockets and had a wager on Perth for the win. The Demons were on $2.80 apparently, whilst Claremont about a dollar 40 something.

Firstly well done to the ferals on a great win, looked focused and more disciplined than our blokes. Forget all the injuries, we had a more than good enough team to win but obviously butchered the ball looking at the poor goal kicking ... again ... so many dumb errors, some of the decisions made including by senior players were mind bogglingly bad, Ep just had to stand by and wait for the inevitable mistake and take advantage. Glad i only had to endure 1 qtr of it. Looks like thats it for this wierd season, based on that performance we cant expect to beat Perth at eagles arena next week and if so that will be the final nail.

Is it the end of the era? Lets see how we suit up next season when we have a full list to choose from but our days of destroying the opposition week in week out are certainly over.

Will be keen to hear a full report from anyone who saw the whole game.

relieved to win especially after kicking the first five points of the last quarter.both teams butchered the ball in the midfield and on goal.i saw something i haven't seen in a subi team for awhile.i think about three times they were streaming down the centre and botched it.one player bounced it and lost control of the ball and a few bad handpasses and fumbles led to throw ups instead of certain goals.subi did a couple of good passages but their skills were below par today.the fact that we had as many inside fifties as subi shows their midfield is struggling.if perth defeat subi and the tigers beat the sharks next week then we will see demons play finals for the first time in twenty years and a rare year without subi in the finals.

Enjoyable game. Really tough. Hard fought. Subi battled away. Could have won with better execution. East Perth kept the ball of us, which was new. We got on top for long periods, just couldn't convert.

Well...that's all she wrote for Subi in 2020. Apart from Kitch, Kennedy and maybe Braut there wasn't the sense of urgency that we've displayed the last few years. Turnovers killed us and as a group we didn't work hard enough when you consider the loose EP players across the park. They transitioned out of our forward 50 way too easily. As SS said, some dumb decisions but more so skill errors killed us. Our forward line wasn't defensive enough and not sure if Sokol is carrying an injury but he's a shadow of last year. Also our kicking at goal was deplorable as it one point in the third we had kicked 1.8 to EP's 6.2 since qtr time and as we know, bad kicking is bad football as a lot of those behinds were very gettable. To make matters worse, I was sitting in the stands and it was very disappointing to see Horsley, Lockyer, Heal, Marsh, Litherland, Brochet a couple of rows ahead instead of being on the park. Not an excuse as EP were very good but just a fact of life. Delahunty was monstered by much bigger EP bodies and having him rucking will have to be thought through as opposition teams have worked him out. Newton tried hard but Robertson tagged him out of it. Wardman must bring some more kids through now for the last 3 games to give them a decent run at it. I'll finish by saying the standard of umpiring is a disgrace in this comp. If it wasn't Subi fans up in arms at some decisions it was the EP supporters. I saw an EP player just about get his head ripped off for no free kick and some very obvious one's missed for Subi. I'm not sure who is the umpires coach but they are very ordinary and for both sides of the coin. Looking forward to 2021 after this crazy year and the flag is Souths to lose. Good luck to Perth as well and I hope they go deep into the finals as their supporters deserve it.

Thanks BC, yes its quite depressing to see all those A graders sitting in the stand, I wouldn't risk any of them for the rest of the season as this year is done, even if we won the last 3 Perth or Claremont would have to lose all 4 and that aint going to happen, so yes lets get the youngsters in for a few games ready for what is hopefully a full 2021 season.
Well done to the colts, they are travelling along nicely, bad luck to the ressies but they are obviously missing a big number of players to cover the leagues injury list.

lh: I am with you on Mort; had he been on two legs in 85 we would have won the flag.

as you know lh, coaches teach them to have no skills; they would be told off if they tried to blind turn around an opponent in favour of a back hand ball.

Spot on AR this mindless manic over handball crap of today is mind numbing and infuriating to watch just like playing hot potato when we were kids with the Burley now replacing the potato....it achieves absolutely nothing other than to rack up meaningless disposals until the inevitable turnover or fumble!

Macnish -- was a very good player, a little bit under-ratted -- his body was certainly smashed; picked ahead of mainwarning for the state of origin games in 86 remember

should also be added to the natural footballers list, lads

I would still go for Mort overall; he was the only Subi player I ever saw keep Wrenstead under 20 possessions; hence my remark about 85 if he had played in the midfield.

The unbelievable dumb thing with this modern football coached crap AR is that those champion play makers and goalsneaks you named above would be castigated for being hungry now in trying to hit the scoreboard regularly and would probably be played as defenders or be told to be more team oriented....todays rubbish has taken all the individual flair out of the game and it is no wonder a number of fantastic indigenous players cant be bothered with the WAFL with its structured crap style which is just copied straight from the afl....I much preferred the WAFL of the 80s in which encouraged, promoted, showcased & highlighted individual flair rather than discouraged it in favour of a negative style!
