Lol, the old poster boy for Peel was actually a feral all along. Must have been transferred from Bob Jane Mandurah to Bob Jane Morley.

Oh yes that Rookie Draft, I'll correct myself regarding the Ferals, he's obviously referring to the 2 GF wins by their AFL masters, Fremantle, Peel haven't been recognised as winning any league premierships.

LH: Are they holding Breman back out of fear of injury, bearring n mnd what happened to Grant Campbell at EP.

Two ways to approach it, do we take a defensive stance and add some height to counter EP's large number of talls or do we take an attacking stance and add pace in the mids and try and bring the ball to the ground like we did against SD where we had an advantage, weather looks to be ok so tall marking players could be important but only if they get decent supply, our mids are good enough to win in that area and strangle their supply ... maybe.

SS the second option, especially as i have had a go at the code being to defensive in the last twenty years.

A leading forward type, such as Breman or Sokol, would be alright if we had another option in the forward line for the high marks. I think his old man was barely six feet tall.

LH: they basically played Campbell at CHF as a sixteen seventeen year old, which, naturally, buggerred up his body prematurely

It happened to some at Subi:

Mort
Dean -- he played a key position under Armstrong
Court
Tucker

LH...probably because these days players have to stick to a process or a defined structure rather than have the coach's imprimatur to show some flair. Liam Ryan was probably the only player who could do what he liked that I've seen at Subi in the last 10 years for obvious reasons. I think you've hit the nail on the head why the game has become so mechanical and predictable.

Ark I think the Budget has Breman at 188 which is 6'2" in the old money, unlike his old man he's a raking left footer but needs another 10 kegs on his frame so a big off season in the gym will help

Very true, you only need to look back to the 2003 to 2009 period for us we had those instinctive individuals that could break games open with natural flair, obviously Ali Picket comes to mind but Brad Smith was another, big "Syrup" Maplestone was another who could turn a game when he felt like it, Schoey before he went to AFL in particular was a highly skilled instinctive player, a bit less so when he came back after years at Port, Rich was another, Desi Haynes, from current players Horse leads the way and ben newton is somewhat of a Horse clone in some ways, has that decisive left foot and can break the lines..

ss: good one -- he certainly has the height to play as key forward in the future, something to look forward to for the club
lh: I am with you on Mort; had he been on two legs in 85 we would have won the flag.

as you know lh, coaches teach them to have no skills; they would be told off if they tried to blind turn around an opponent in favour of a back hand ball.
