the DUP have always said that, if it came to the crunch they would pick remain in the union and the EU over Brexit. In all honesty Baz, the DUP don't really need to have friends in the world when they hold the ballance of power in parliament. At the next election, they will win 10 or 11 seats, and, happily some in the Tory party and many in the Labour party will not be at Westminster to greet them.

Labour party, on the other hand, has lied on the issue since the last general election.

Boris the Russian now has a decision to make: should he accept the soft brexit amendments subject to the Labour party supporting legislation for a general election?

The DUP will be irrelevant in the new parliament, they are on borrowed time, and its a good chance the people of NI will punish them for the complete bungle they have made of this.

They better start campaigning for remain quick smart then if they want the "union"

DUP = Doomed Ulster Party.

So if Boris wins the election in a landslide can these party pooper Muppets still stick their club foot in the door and block Brexit?

FFS I'm sick of it. Give Britain their borders back.

I thought Australian politics was a shambles during the Rudd, Gillard, Rudd, Abbott, Turnbull years but the Poms buy and sell us in that respect...I'm over it too DD ands I can't imagine what your average punter in the UK thinks about their pollies over there...they should just make a decision either way and get on with it.

BC -- it has worked itself out: the liberal democrats have shot themselves in the foot, but they are right in the sense that, only an upset electoral victory will stop Brexit

all the DUP will be returned
the SNP may win seats in Scotland
in polls the Tories are leading even in Wales over Labour
it is important for the Russian to win the election to at least get partially out of the EU
once, that happens, it is possible that the WTOers could campgain for full Brexit at the following election
there will always be a pro-Europe faction to get back in, but it would cost the country too much in the following areas that the returners would struggle to win an election or referendum .

the common currency
the same VAT rates
immigration
Gibraltar -- there is no way Spain would let them re-join without first annexing the fortress as part of the agreement.

DD:to answer your question on the Tory rebels possibly blocking stuff after the election. Apparently, every tory members must sign a pledge to deliver Brexit, Brexit being defined as the Russian's deal with Europe -- including the decade of negotiations to come with the EU over the trade agreement. Canada's took nine years.

Be interesting to see what the turn out will be like for the general election - and how much higher it be (if so) for this one.
You would hope that a bleak, dark winters day in mid December won't see people stay home - non compulsory voting should have an impact here you wouldn't think.

Nah mate, if he wins a landslide the deal will go through without the disgraceful delays that have been dragged on to do.

Then again if its another hung parliament, its the same old game.

SNP will pick up Conservative seats in Scotland ( Scotland now hardline remain )
Conservatives will lose seats to Lib Dems in Remain electorates South West England Home counties.
Conservatives will pick up seats from Labour that are on slim margins
DUP will probably lose 2 seats to Alliance/UUP but are now going to have to rethink their disastrous Brexit stance, NI currently now running at 70% remain.
Cant See Corbyn picking up too many for Labour, Farange is going to run hard in North East England for Brexit Party and run dead in Con seats.

Boris on track for a narrow majority for mine or a hung parliament god forbid, with the hardline remain and SNP Lib Dems holding the balance.
