Lost a Liberal seat for the first time in 70 years , gave away a margin on 17.5% , gone into minority government and got another nutty indie into parliament.

Dutton and Co owns this mess, the Libs are on track for a historic wipe-out in 6 months, Dutton will go and Warringah will be in play as well, its more left wing than Wentworth and will have a strong independent candidate, probably a good thing.

Oh deary me!!
And now the Libs have really imploded by currently blaming turnbull for the loss of the by election.
Unless a drastic turn around happens, the libs not looking good for the up coming federal election

The morons that supported this coup cant and wont accept any responsibility for it, in 6 months they will all be swept away and well deserved as well. Didn't learn anything from the Rudd Gillard era,

Feeling same way, but don't feel like punishing Bishop my local member as she has been OK through all this, but probably will end up going Indie.

What is amusing is watching Credlin, Bolt, Chris Kenny meltdown after the shellacking in Wentworth. It is laughable how they are trying to rewrite history by saying that it was Turnbull that caused the loss of 14 seats when the reality was that the Abbott would have been the only Federal one-term government post the Second World War.

it is also hilarious that they Turnbull owed the Liberals anything. It will be an exquisite irony if Turnbull donated a significant amount to a high profile candidate in Waringah at the next Federal election.

Have to say I agree with you, Swan, it was painful to watch Kenny election night trying to dig himself out a hole he created, not as bad as Alan Jones, who's delusion is almost weird - saying the people of Wentworth voted against the Liberals - wait for it because of Turnbull being PM?? and for having him in the job at all...work that out....he just cant accept he got it wrong and that the people of Wentworth wanted him and not Sharma.

Like you I have no doubt at all that Abbott was on track for a one term defeat, the polls were clear on that.

Latest Newspolls since the Turnbull removal, indicated a nationwide collapse in the LNP vote, gee who would of guess, they get rid of their one and only asset and biggest donor..

They will get wiped out, its going to take that wack any sense into them, the only good thing I can see is that Dutton and possible Abbott are a almost certain to get the flick.

Malcolm from the outside looking in seem to struggle as a politician and priminister. Probably would of been a great Labour PM.He would of been like the Canadian PM.
The LNP has governed about 70% of the time since Federation. And has done a reasonable job most of the time. They have been a horrible government the last 5.5 years.

Struggled? He won Wentworth by 30,000 votes and had a margin of 17.5 %, if that's struggling how did Sharma go?

He had a 2 PP of 49 51 when they axed him , no sitting PM has ever lost an election from there..

Now they are 46 56 with 6 months to go with a failed advertising bloke filling in time.

Latest poling has them collapsing in every state since the leadership change.

The last 8 and a bit years of politics in Australia has been a disgrace and a stain on the country. From the time Gillard deposed Rudd in June 2010 until now both sides should hang their heads in collective shame. I think it's fair to say that what anyone wants is a stable government, a vibrant opposition and a selection of cross benchers with different ideas to keep everyone accountable. What we currently have is a rabble of self-interested, narcissistic dickheads who put this country second to their own advancement. I won't mind one little bit if the Libs get wiped out next election so we can start again with a clean slate because as sure as day follows night, Shorten will self destruct as PM, the vultures will circle and the factions within Labor will have the knives out and it will happen all over again like Ground Hog Day.

My take on Turnbull is that he should have been allowed to go to the next election and accept whatever fate eventually played out. What's yours and how do you think Shorten will go?
