After the broken promises, i.e. LIES, relating to his election promises about a train line, rapid bus transit systen and another train line to Ellenbook, his government is not about to break another election promise by scrapping his light rail promise.

The question to be asked is why any elector could believe anything he promises leading up to the next state election. He has proved beyond any doubt that he will say anything to get elected and ignore any promise he likes subsequent to his election. I challenge all those who criticised Julia Gillard on this forum to publicly express their views about what they think of the Colin Barnett broken election promises and his LIES.

Geez, I can always tell when he is lying. It's whenever he opens his mouth.

OTO not quite right. Barnett in response to a question regarding the Ellenbrook rail promise (can't remember if that was LIE 1 or LIE 2) he made the comment that the relevant electorate should have elected a Liberal member.

Old Gap-tooth was elected by default due to Carpenter's stuff up , he has never had any skill or honour & you only have to look at the lovechild Buswell's public debacle

Abbott was elected by default due to the in & out & then in again stuff up

Says everything about the Liberals & always has

Apparently Dean Nalder being the transport minister is having a huge bearing on the decision. Obviously the light rail was not going to interfere with the current roadways. My understanding the track being laid near the current road. Will new bus lanes be built? Or simply use the existing roads? The chance of having light rail is here. Hope the right decision is made. I think more buses is a backward step.

Well wont say I told you so.. Federal voted Liberal and still happy with that but Barnett has to go.. He has lied so many times about so many issues. and been caught out but the media doesnt pick it up..
Bloody utility bills are through the roof. etc etc etc

We have a huge mining infrastructure in this state and should be mile in front of the other states but we arent because of Mismanagement..
Looking back Labor started and finished so many contracts and huge projects yet Barnett is struggling. He is so cock sure he can win he doesnt care... So whos fault is that... the electors of WA... Lets hope they can see that he has to go.

Cant understand what Gillard has to do with any of it Swan42 she got away with murder because of who she was especially with the Union crap. But that is past and she will live quite comfortably for the rest of her life..as well Crudd.. I hear Bill counts the knives in the Labor caucus kitchen every time he is there as he will be next.. because what goes around comes around.

Theve got bugger all money to pay for it, as for metronet pie in the sky.

I really dont see why they don't look at at a net work of electic trolley buses, we had them before , it beats all the disruption of building tracks.

So Bazza what does it say about Barnett that during a mining boom in WA he as Premier of this state managed to waste all our revenue and lose our state's AAA rating and broke a plethora of promises.

The only way this state will get a decent public transport system in Perth and help alleviate the traffic congestion is if this state elects a Labor government. Historically from the end of World War 2: what public transport infrastructure have the Liberals developed compared with the ALP?

Cardy it is quite simple really. A number of posters on this forum suggested that Gillard had to go because of her "broken promises". Why aren't those same posters, with the same amount of vitriol, suggesting that Abbott should go for his broken promises. To explain why I have the "broken promises" in quotes with respect to Gillard was that as a consequence of the 2010 election Gillard led a minority government and by necessity needed to make compromises. No such luxury can be afforded to Abbott as he has a comfortable majority in the House of Reps and a Speaker of the ilk of Bronwyn Bishop.

yes but Abbott doesn't have a majority in the senate where Labor, PUP and the Greens blocl pretty much everything the government is trying to do. Christ, Labor won't even support $40b worth of savings it introduced itself....fmd.
