Nothing wrong with the 50;s mate, Australia's golden era, high economic growth, full employment, low crime, no drugs, social and family cohesion, none of the BS you have these days, WAFL was king in WA too!

And who built the place in the 50's? = Migrants, Australia have migrants to thank then for the so called golden era..Aust was so far behind the rest of the world before post WW2 migration..Whitlam opened up the country to the world and looked after the common man

dog...you're so far off the money it's laughable. we had conservative governments and prime ministers from 1949 right through to when Whitlam was elected in 1972...so how do you reckon he opened the country during the 50s?

And what about the great conservative Premier Sir David Brand & cohort Sir Charles Court.
Talk about opening up Australia to overseas.
As I said RIP Gough.

What are you talking about Post War Immigration started in 1946 - Whitlam didnt come to power until 1972.

Besides the backbone and biggest majority of people were Anglo Celtic people that built post war and 1950's Australia. We didnt have all this Multi Culturalism crap , immigrants came but the policy was Assimilation . now we have ethnic ghettos and division thanks to dickheads like Whitlam and Grasby.

Yep Sir David and Sir Charles, built WA and the mineral and gas industry we have to this day, there would be no Iron Ore, Oil or Gas Industry, Argyle Diamonds, Argyle Dam and it goes on and on.

Sir Joh had his knockers in Qld, but he really did the same in Qld, he got that place pumping.

Really those two states have kept the whole country going.

Another Gough brain child was the Family Law Act, probably caused more misery, depression and in justice than any other piece of legislation in Australian history.

anchor...such vitriol my son... imo it's Labor's god given right to run up debt and it's the Libs to clean up the mess afterwards. that's how its been for the last 20 years and will continue to be so for the next 20.

BC a bit longer than 20 years me thinks.
Go back to Gough mate, the financial mess has always been needed to be cleaned up.
It's amazing how the country prospers and grows under conservative rule.

However as I said, Gough believed in something and gave his all for it.
IMHO, it's not right but he believed it was so good on him.
He was entitled to his opinion and was allowed to voice it.

With all the years of conservative rule it's amazing how the country has grown and prospered.

anchorman wrote: Unfortunately, no , we didn't.
But I think we can blame the right wing media for that.
Why blame Curr, because he was just that a drunken Sot. A fall down drunken Royal

So you blaming Kerr, then the media, but not dumb voters who didnt vote Labor back in?? Reckon you are grasping at straws there. If people see an injustice they normally vote accordingly.
