Agree Shark it is a late start tonight.. I will watch one innings but might get trapped into a late night depending on runs scored and who bats first etc. Scorchers still in it if they can win tonight and Wed.
I did run them down a bit but considering their 186 against NZ that shows they can bat and lets not forget they lost their first 3 wickets for bugger all runs.
Broome was the X factor unfortunately in that game.
As you say if Scorchers can get over the line tonight Wed will be a big one and nice start time of 0630.

Preview of tonights game

Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals have been impressive and showing two successive victories against the Mumbai Indians and the Highveld Lions to stay in the top of the group with eight points. On the contrary, Perth Scorchers are at the bottom with two points which they got by the washed out match in Ahmedabad.

Rajasthan Royals have a strong batting line-up with a strong opening pair in skipper Rahul Dravid and Ajinkya Rahane. Then comes Shane Watson, Sanju Samson, Stuart Binny and Brad Hodge with their all-round abilities.

Ashok Menaria and Kevon Cooper are good with the bat and ball. Veteran Pravin Tambe has taken RR’s spin department, while the pace battery consists of James Faulkner, Shaun Tait and Watson. Australian Shaun Tait, who has a hamstring injury, might be available for this match.

Team Rajasthan Royals: Rahul Dravid (captain), Stuart Binny, Kevon Cooper, James Faulkner, Brad Hodge, Vikramjeet Malik, Ashok Menaria, Ajinkya Rahane, Sanju Samson, Rahul Shukla, Shaun Tait, Pravin Tambe, Siddharth Trivedi, Shane Watson, Dishant Yagnik.

Perth Scorchers

Perth Scorchers find it difficult to pose any real challenge. They were beaten by Otago volts by 62 runs despite a fine half century by Hilton Cartwright who had scored a fine 68 off 53 balls. Skipper Simon Katich and Adam Voges have experienced game, while few youngsters are keen to learn.

Just a bit more cricket news.. First game of Ryobi cup held today

NSW beat Tassie by 81 runs in Cup opener

A mature innings from Test batsman Steve Smith and some sharp fielding and bowling enabled NSW to defeat Tasmania by 81 runs in the first domestic one-day cricket match of the season on Sunday.

Opting to bat first, NSW made a mediocre 9-178 at Sydney's Bankstown Oval before dismissing Tasmanian for 97 in 35 overs to claim a bonus point.

Smith (70 off 99 balls) held the Blues innings together, striking four boundaries and two sixes in a responsible innings on a slow wicket.

He came in at first drop, after Test opener David Warner (4 off 16) was caught at second slip in the fourth over.

The Tigers were reasonably placed at 1-51 in the 16th over, but their challenge crumbled as they lost 4-6 in just over six overs.

A combination of disciplined bowling, poor running and fine catching turned the match around.

Alex Doolan (24 off 49) and Jon Wells (2 off 7) were both run out.

The dangerous duo off Mark Cosgrove (0 off 8) and George Bailey (1 off 9) were the victims of sharp catches.

Cosgrove was snapped up at point by Warner, while Bailey fell victim to a sharp return catch from emerging paceman Gurinder Sandhu(1-15 off six overs).

When Ed Cowan (25 off 50) perished off the last ball of the 22nd over, Tassie were 5-57 and effectively out of the contest.

Moises Henriques (4-17 off 8), Doug Bollinger (0-12 off 8) and Josh Hazlewood (1-27 off 7), turned the screw along with Test spinner Nathan Lyon (2-23 off 6).

Earlier, Smith and Henriques (35 off 46), added 46 for the second wicket, before NSW suffered a mid-innings collapse, losing 4-21 to slump to 5-81 after 24 overs.

Smith and one-day debutant Kurtis Patterson (22 off 44) put on 53 for the sixth wicket, but the Blues added just 24 off the last 7.5 overs after Smith was bowled around his legs by Xavier Doherty (1-40 off 10).

Medium pacer Ben Laughlin (3-23 off 10) smashed through the bottom half of the order.

Disaster for WA. :( . Royals only need 6 an over to win after WA all out for 119
Oh well early night for me :) Back on Wednesday at 0630 and hopefully we can come out with our first win but tournament over.
Hopefully a bit of experience and learning for the boys but suspect we will see a different side in the KFC Big BASH in Aussie this year.

As expected a easy win to the Rajasthan Royals.
The tournament has been a Baptism of fire for our young players but the experience and knowledge they have learnt is good.

Our other Big Bash team the Brisbane Heat arent faring much better with 3 games and 3 Losses in their Group :(

Kiwi's playing Tuesday in a top of the table clash. They are looking good. Go NZ

Last game tonight Wed 0630 start
The Scorchers’ final game of the tournament is in Delhi on Wednesday night against the Sachin Tendulkar-boasting Mumbai Indians.

Perth Scorchers captain Simon Katich has taken a measured approach to the team’s Karbonn Smart Champions League Twenty20 campaign, admitting the squad has been disappointed by its performance, but saying it was an important learning curve.

The Scorchers were forced to take a squad bereft of experience to India after six first-choice players were ruled unavailable.

The team remained buoyant as it put in a solid pre-tournament acclimatisation camp in Darwin, before travelling to the sub-continent and carrying some strong form into a practice match against the Gujarat Cricket Association XI in Ahmedabad.

The inexperience has proven a pivotal issue in the CLT20 campaign itself, though, with Perth having suffered two hard defeats to Otago Volts and Rajasthan Royals.

The nine-wicket loss to Rajasthan in Jaipur on Sunday night ended the Scorchers’ hopes of progressing to the finals.

Preview tonights game.. SCORCHERS V MUMBAI INDIANS 0630 LIVE ONE

Hopefully Brad Hogg will play. The Indian crowds love him :)

Mumbai Indians are currently at the third position with six points in the points table. Otago Volts are placed second with 10 points with two wins and an abandoned game from three matches.

Placed at the top of Group A table with 12 points, Rajasthan Royals have already made the last four stage. The Mumbai side have to play not just to earn full marks to make it 10 and but also have to finish the match with a good run-rate.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians are great performers. There is no doubt that the strong Mumbai side would do everything with their power to post a comprehensive victory against the Scorchers. Led by Skipper Rohit Sharma, the team has a good batting line-up. Including himself, the team also has Dwayne Smith and Kieron Pollard playing earnestly.

The bowlers Mitchell Johnson, Harbhajn Singh and Pragyan Ojha have successfully put breaks to the opponents’ scoring besides chipping in with important wickets.

Mumbai Indians Playing Squad: Rohit Sharma (c), Abu Nechim, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Rishi Dhawan, Harbhajan Singh, Mitchell Johnson, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Pragyan Ojha, Akshar Patel, Kieron Pollard, Ambati Rayudu, Dwayne Smith, Aditya Tare, Sachin Tendulkar.

Perth Scorchers

Scorchers have only pride to play for and spoil Mumbai’s chances. The Perth Scorchers have Ashton Agar, Brad Hogg, Shaun Marsh, Sam Whiteman, Michael Beer and Liam Davis. Their bowling, led by Joel Paris, is inexperienced and not having played Brad Hogg in the tournament so far have not helped their cause.

Perth Scorchers Playing Squad: Simon Katich (c), Ashton Agar, Michael Beer, Jason Behrendorff, Hilton Cartwright, Burt Cockley, Liam Davis, Brad Hogg, Shaun Marsh, Joel Paris, Alfonso Thomas, Tom Triffitt (wk), Ashton Turner, Adam Voges, Sam Whiteman
