Wasnt selected Unka ..or am I thinking of Hoggy.. Could be right Anchorman?

official 15 selected.. as we know Marshes out with those dread injuries

Perth Scorchers CLT20 Squad: Ashton Agar, Michael Beer, Jason Behrendorff, Burt Cockley, Liam Davis, Brad Hogg, Simon Katich (c), Mitch Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Joel Paris, Alfonso Thomas, Tom Triffitt, Ashton Turner, Adam Voges, Sam Whiteman.

pretty sure I heard Thomas was not released by his British county side due to the fact they were on the edge of relegation and they didnt want that.

Late news I have found something on it good article at

www.perthscorchers.com.au/news/2013/08/3...rs-clt20-squad-named

The Scorchers will be without Nathan Coulter-Nile and Mike Hussey, who were selected by their respective IPL franchises Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Pat Cummins was unavailable for selection following his recent back injury sustained during Australia A’s Tour of Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Looks like this one has gone..Now if we had Gale or Gibbs in the side it could of been on. Oh well the Brisbane Heat havent fared as well as they have lost 2 games at least we got 2 points from a wash out.

In assembling this squad, some hard decisions were made at the selection table with Herschelle Gibbs and Marcus North overlooked. :(

I think a bit more experience would of been good and maybe Marcus North would of been the go now he is back with WA. Ok not a great 1 day player but when you have a young squad his experience and inclusion would of given the other players someone to look up to.
Will be interesting to see who or imports are this year in the Local Big Bash? Maybe Thomas will come back.. We will find out. The present T20 Squad is just not up to it IMO.

Jury out will see in the next 2 games. All the best to the team. If nothing else the Financial rewards and experience will count for a lot.

Sure Justin Langer will be busy before then

Next 2 games.. Looking forward to them.

Sunday 29 September - Perth Scorchers v Rajasthan Royals, Jaipur

Wednesday 2 October - Perth Scorchers v Mumbai Indians, Delhi

Enjoy you Cricket guys... :cheer: :cheer:

Gee, the first 4 overs were dynamite. The 2 young lads looked unplayable, but unfortunately the south sea poms steadied and belted us around. Still, if people like Paris Berendhorf and Agar continue to develop, perhaps WA cricket can get back up there.

I was surprised when I saw in the end we got 186 or thereabouts.
Thats not a bad 20/20 score around 10 runs an over roughly.
Broome definately was the difference and they wont far off the record for a 20/20. We lost 3 wickets early as well.
Will be interesting on Sunday to see how we go

TBH unk, I didn't research their backgrounds  I foolishly assumed they were West Aussies. Maybe I'm still living in the days when we used to produce top liners every year :(

Unfortunately I think Agar was born in v..v..v..victoria. Still, if he stays here long enough, we can cleanse his soul and turn him into a bearable human

Dont forget next game on Sunday.. Broadcast times below..1030 Sun 0630 Wed

Hilton Cartwright (69no off 53) v Otago.

Broom Sweeps Aside Scorchers

25 September 2013

The Perth Scorchers have suffered a disappointing 62-run defeat to a Neil Broom-inspired Otago Volts in their Karbonn Smart Champions League T20 clash in Jaipur on Wednesday night.

The Volts recorded a CLT20 record score of 4-242 from their 20 overs, with the Scorchers gallant in reply but falling short despite the best efforts of Hilton Cartwright (69no off 53).

Earlier the Scorchers had started brilliantly, with debutant Joel Paris claiming two wickets off his first two balls to have the Volts 2-9, but Broom (117no), Derek de Boorder (45) and Ryan ten Doeschate (66) put on a T20 batting masterclass to take the game away from Perth.

The defeat leaves the Scorchers needing to win their two final group matches, against Rajasthan Royals (Sunday 10.30pm Perth time) and Mitchell Johnson and Nathan Coulter-Nile's Mumbai Indians (Wednesday 6.30pm Perth time).

What a bugger about the time for tomorrow's game Cardy. 10.30 pm a bit late for me to sit for another 3 hrs - I'll tape it just in case. Wednesday night though....warm the set and cool the tinnies :cheer:
