Season almost over and Whincup has it sown up. Me a Lowndes fan.
Craig has had a couple of unlucky years but will break through soon.
Listening to 91.3 and they have a show called V8 NATION which goes into everything on this sport. No punches pulled.

Here is the link if you want to listen in.

www.crocmedia.com.au/category/podcast/v8-nation/

If you like V8'S you will like this show.. It is broadcast on 91.3 on Thursday afternoon and replayed on 91.3 on Friday between 6-7 pm.

Enjoy

I wonder how that will work? Under the impression Nissan do not build or produce V8 powered vehicles in Australia? Fairly certain Mercedes have the 6's, so it sounds like interesting times ahead of us.

If you have a listen to the show above it says Mercedes are just buying out another team Stone Brothers racing. Not sure about Nissen will most probably just take over another team and put it in their name and race thier cars

An interesting article re the Mercedes team comming into the V8's.

On Wednesday, Stone Brothers Racing announced a merger with Australian GT outfit Erebus Motorsport that will make Mercedes the fourth manufacturer on the grid for the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship.

The deal will see SBR's squad - Lee Holdsworth, Shane van Gisbergen and Tim Slade – switch from long-time partner Ford to Mercedes-badged sedans, with engines and bodywork coming direct from high-performance arm AMG in Germany.

Erebus owner Betty Klimenko will kick in the estimated $12 million needed to make the deal happen, and neither Klimenko nor the Stone Brothers will rule out a full takeover of SBR in the near future.

But is leaving Ford the right move for SBR? And will Mercedes be able to find a niche in a traditionally blue-collar sport?

The Nissan Altima(maxima) will have the VK56DE V8 out of the new Nissan Patrol reduced to 5.0 from 5.6 its a quad cam so should have a unique sound compared to the dinosaur pushrod technology ford and GM use. Nissan will be the first to use a V8 that is actually available in one of their road cars, Ford and GM use a special race only V8 not available in their road cars. The Merc will be an E Class sedan with a 5.0 V8. All four manufactures will now run IRS and a transaxle manual gearbox with sequential shift.

The old A9X only started loosing records with the introduction of the VT Commodore supercar.

Brocky wasn't really pushing the poor old Torana in the comparison up at Bathurst a few years ago, but certainly over a few laps, it probably would have loosened up a little more than the newer Commmodores. Certainly not disgraced, and really only a Holden 308.

Had the pleasure of working on a genuine A9X a few years back, absolute beast of a car nothing looks better on the road than the hatch
