These two jokers have been riding the wave of popularity throughout covid with their chests out like Superman boasting about how they are keeping us safe, the only thing I haven't seen Marky Mark do is planking. Does KEEPING US SAFE start and stop at Covid? What about hospital emergency care? That doesn't count? The urgency isn't the same unless we've got Covid?

What happened to that poor girl Aishwaryra Aswath is unforgivable as well as countless others who have lost their lives including innocent children like this poor girl. I remember someone telling me once, if you or a loved one are really sick or in a lot of pain call an ambulance. Sounds obvious but a lot of people think no I can't afford an ambulance, some probably don't even realize they are covered under their ancillaries insurance cover, or they don't think it warrants calling an ambulance. 

Calling an ambulance might have saved that girls life because she would have received treatmant by paramedics instantly and be put to the front of the queue at the hospital. These two top of the tree politicians are playing politics and it is costing the lives of innocent young kids. It is unforgivable and what a shame there is just about no opposition to hold this government to account. Is it a bridge too far to change government at the next election in 3 and a half years plus? 

Yep DD but reckon you go back through 5, 10 or even 20 years and read the same story over and over again through successive government, successive booms and troughs .

There is no excuse and the only solution is to build a range of smaller ICU type clinics to take the stress away from the major hospitals so they can deal with the major issues and not the range of less severe issues often being seen in ICU's childrens or otherwise. 

There problem with all of that is that it will take time which is the commodity in short supply for some.

I agree DD. I think back to when we were in lock down for 5 days after 1 case and all the borders closed and McGoo and Crook kept on justifying it by saying it was down to medical advice which we never saw. If that's the case, why didn't the fucking Drs run for WA parliament as they were the one's driving the success which this government is currently basking in and not these pair of clowns? The other question is around the ambulance situation...if the little girl had been transported to hospital by ambulance what are the chances she would have been ramped for several hours before admittance into the ED?

True Grump the problem is nothing new but we’ve spent billions on new so called world class hospitals which I am sure they are but hospitals are only as good as the staff that run them and we’ve (Western Australia) just been rated the best performing economy in the world by some international rating agency and McGoo keeps beating his chest about how strong our economy is and the surpluses.

It is shameful that this government won’t listen to HEALTH ADVICE when it comes to hospital emergency departments isn’t it? They’ve been caught out lying and with their pants down again just like the last positive local Covid case. I don’t think this government deserves a 4 year term. It needs to be reduced to 3 years.

BC at least if you are ramped in an ambulance you have paramedics treating you and keeping an eye on you and I might be naive but I would assume if they see signs you are critical they can jump you in the queue.

These stories just keep repeating themselves and they are too serious to ignore or just brush off as “normal”. The beds are there, fast track hiring more doctors and nurses you clowns. If that means bringing them in from overseas then do it.

Previous Governments built Belltowers and Quays instead of Health centres or foundations for this - millions wasted but no mention of this 
FSH had a shitload of serious cock ups that backlogged thousands of cases - again any mentions
I Remember the glorious coalition marriage that was jilted big time due to Royalties for regions coin mis-spending - coin that could have been used to create something on the outskirts of the city

Well Roger Cook just had his Eddie McGuire moment. He has today described it as an EXCITING PHASE in the public health system. What an insensitive bastard, and like Eddie McGuire he SHOULD RESIGN.

Southerner don't forget the lead contamination in the drinking water at the Perth Children's Hospital.  Also, we will see how shortsighted the previous LNP government's decision not to an additional one or two floors at PCH going forward.

The drinking water was the problem of the contractors and there's currently heaps of space at FSH and PCH...it's just this government has cut back spending to such a point there's no staff to open beds that have been closed....so who's the shortsighted ones Swan? I know...let's close the borders and put everyone in lockdown as that'll take the focus off the mismanagement of our health system.

I thought the same thing when I saw that DD.  Straight out of Eddie's play book.  A kid dies in tragic, unnecessary circumstances and Crook reckons it as an "exciting phase in our health system"...wtf??

Didn't hear that BC but if he's said that, it is an absolute disgrace and he should immediately resign. So disrespectful and incredibly insensitive to the family involved. Lets see if the Labour loving local media take him to task, I doubt it.
