I hardly think a/man was inviting the opinions of known Fremantle haters.

A/man I think we ticked every box and they got the most out of the trade period and the draft they could possibly got. Brad Hill was a gift IMO virtually a direct swap for Chris Mayne Collingwood should be on our Xmas card list this year. That meant we didn't have to sacrifice anything else to get him which enabled us to get the deals done to get McCarthy and Hamling. Not often a club picks up a player from the reigning premiership team and Kersten is another bargain.

In the draft we had two very good local options and chose the one considered most likely to not be available to us passing up on Tim English but then picking up who was considered the best tap ruckman in the draft in Sean Darcy then picking up a KPP prospect who could have similar attributes to Luke McPharlin so with Hamling adds depth down back considering we delisted Sylvagni and the injury prone Johnson and his current off field situation and Dawson is probably entering his last season. Johnson possibly also if he breaks down again.

Can't wait really excited about our midfield with the addition of Brad Hill, the return of Fyfe and fingers crossed Harley's calf problems will soon be behind him.

And looking forward to see the new look forward line minus the Pav for the first time in God knows how many years, 16 magnificent years was it?

There is no doubt that it has been a great post season for Fremantle. Unlike some other years they have recruited for their needs going forward. Assuming that the injury situation does not get as dire as it was last year, there will be a lot of competition for places in the best 22 and that will create an improvement that will without question push them back up the ladder.

There is need for a bit of caution however when any team turns over its list like Freo has, in that it may take a while for the new guys to gel in with the others so the expectations for 2017 need to be kept in that context. Also guys like Conor Blakely and Lachie Weller who had break out years in 2016 may find it tougher next year as opposition coaches work out how to stop them.

Overall though I think the Dockers have now set the structure in place for them to have a genuine crack at a flag before the end of Lyons contract in 4 years.

I have liked what we have done in terms of recruiting & drafting this off season. The proof will be in the pudding at the end of next season. What position did we finish, did the game stlye/skill execution improve (at times this year it was terrible) and obviously have a good run with injuries.

I'm hopefully that we can finish somewhere in 7-11 bracket and possibly if things go our way play finals.

It was a very positive draft period where the club certainly picked the right range of players, just remains to be seen if they are up to it. I was very happy we picked Logue with our first pick. He has an enormous amount of upside with his size, strenght and versatility.
English would have been good too but we couldnt have both. There is no doubt the team will move up the ladder, not sure they will get in top 8 next year but they will give it a shake.

I liked the pickup of Ryan from the East Coast. Should add some value to the backline!

Good comments from all.On a couple of other site, they are saying we blundered by releasing Barlow,DeBoer and Mzungu.But I think we have done the right thing by the club and those players.
It is hard to please people, we had , I think the second oldest group this year.We lower our age by delisting those players.Our average age comes down.I don't think we redruited a player over 24.
I am really looking forward to see just how this group come along.
I see on the Dockers site that Sam Collins is looking forward to the challenge from the new chum.It will be a fight for places in almost every position this coming season.Probably just a few who will be safe all year.

Point is anchor, no one is allowed to say ANYTHING negative nor criticise anything Freo on your site. Generally, this is just another site on my list that I can't be bothered visiting unless I see a heading that looks like it may be something different.

Dont think that is right Shark, its when a message is repeated over and over again that gets kicked off. It is our site and the most popular of all the AFL sites here so we must be doing something right.

Disagree JB, I don't repeat messages and I don't denigrate people. I still get my posts removed, presumably because I don't talk about how Freo's going to win the flag!! Are you the sole moderator of this site?
