He got 31 possessions with 5 tackles today mate, he has always been a high possession player for Hawthorn I don't reckon Jetta would of got any where near that for the Swans.

I don't know about Jetta but Hills kicking is elite, and players should be judged
on big games finals,GF etc which Hill has excelled at.

Freo need good users of the ball which he is, some people call him an outside player and soft, the Hawks have benefited from his hard running to create space some of his kicking inside 50 today to the forwards was brilliant and that's a definate need at Freo.

Hill would be a nice get but does it easier in a great side like Hawthorn...will he do the same in a Freo side? Worth the try IMO as he does have elite running and foot skills. Big question will be what Hawthorn will be prepared to accept???

On another note and way more important is who we are going to get to take the KP in the backline we so desperately need?

Here's a list of tradable players we could easily give up:-

Sheridan
Sutcliffe
Dawson (if anyone is stupid enough to take him)
Ibbotson
Mayne
Clarke
Ballantyne (this might surprise some but you need to put up something worth while and all the above are only B grade players - Balla is an All Australian & an A grade player)

Yep all of those should be on the table, I think that Langdon may be the young player the Hawk want.

Brad Hill has played 2 good games this year, the last 2 he is obviously very happy that the move is out in the open.

not exactly the type of player freo are desperate for. Should be concentrating on what they need, Hawthorn will make them pay dearly for him.

watch Freo play once and you know that there is only one player they need - Hogan.
they dont get a key forward and they wont take the next step as a team.
Mccarthy isnt a key forward, he is a 3rd tall and has as many issues as Bennell and that has been a disaster, only bloke ever to miss a year with a calf injury, believe his injury if you believe in fairytales.

Its fairly obvious what freo need,

Key forwards who can kick goals
A Key defender or two
A backup ruckman - Zac Clarke is the most disappointing spud going around, didn't even look interested on the weekend.

They already have some outside pace with Stephen Hill, Fyfe and Neale in the guts. Sure it would be nice to have Brad Hill in the side but you need to trade.

Freo will not trade a low pick for him and they do not have any real currency to trade with, unless they offer up a high end player which would be pointless.

Whilst its nice that he may want to come home, how high up do you really think he is Lyons list at the moment?

I dont believe Freo should put too much effort into Hill or Hogan as they are still contracted and would be on the back foot big time in negotiations. Hogan would battle with poor delivery in the forward line. They have one genuine ruckman in Sandilands who is at the latter end of his career Clarke and Griffin are very average. They need some size around the ground, especially in defence but also need a ruckman. Freo should look at suring up stocks in those areas before they chase someone like Hogan. Forget next year, they need to plan for the next 5 years. They have uncovered some good young players, but not enough to fill the gaps. Keep their first round selection and use it, dont give it away. They have the basis of a good side but they certainly need to draft and trade very very well over the next few years to turn themselves around.
