So He's met with Ross Lyon I would have him in a heart beat a three time premiership player possibly four, running machine with an elite kick, contracted though don't know what Freo could give to please the Hawks.

He'll be 23 next year so will fit into the rebuild mode.

Yep love to have him on the other wing opposite Stephen though he's normally starting across half back this year so they might be alongside each other. Big problem is how do we satisfy Hawthorn? No way can we trade our first pick.

Why does it say in the article our second pick is pick 39? WTF is going on there? Thankfully Lachie Neale is locked away otherwise they probably would have mounted a case for a straight swap.

I'm happy to give up Barlow, Mayne, Clarke. And second round picks. Would we gamble and offer our first round pick the following year in anticipation it will be a late first rounder?

I think a player that might appeal to them is Taberner. His stocks have risen this year so he's got some upside, probably his best football is in front of him and Hawthorn have lost Buddy and Roughhead over the last few years. Also they love lefties.

Is he eligible for free agency?

We gave up our next round pick for Bennell I think. therefor 3 +18 =21 + 18 = 39. It may even be that we only have 21 and 39 next year - not sure
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Why would you give up Taberner DD? What Freo are desperately lacking is tall forwards, why would Freo trade him for yet another midfielder? Brad Hill is good but I would be looking at trading excess midfielders for him.

Ideally we wouldn't but Hawthorn aren't going to give up Brad Hill for donkeys. We are building a very good depth of quality mids and I don't want to see any of them go. For the first time this year Taberner is showing us something. Hawthorn I guess would like like for like to replenish their aging midfield, Lachie Neale has just been locked away for 3 years and I like the look of Lachie Weller, Connor Blakely, Darcy Tucker and Ed Langdon really showed dash today.

Barlow has some currency given his second half to the season but is now out for the season. But he's late 20's and not sure he fits the Hawthorn mould.

Zac Clarke might have some appeal but he hasn't set the world on fire last couple of seasons. I would be happy to offer up Danyl Pearce but again late 20's. Others that could have some appeal are Mayne and Ballas. Oh, and they are welcome to Zac Dawson if they want him back.

What about Tommy Sheridan and Cam Sutcliffe? Both still young and dependable players.

I wouldnt be giving up too much for Bradley Hill, he's a good player in a very good side, doesnt get his own ball. I remember a guy by the name of Headland was of a similar ilk and had also played in a premiership along side one of the best midfields of all time. Was disappointing at Freo. The guy they may be interested in is Langdon, he will be a very good player and going by the rumours wants to return to Victoria. Would be a shame because he will really develope over the next couple of years. Freo need some bigger players, they get pushed over when the pressure is on.

Agree with that JB .It is easier to look good in a good side where your deficencies can be covered up by having good players around you. Not sure he would get that at Freo.

The thing is he would already be an improvement on guys like Sheridan and Sutcliffe who have already reached their ceiling and definately ahead of Suban,D.Pearce.

Just look at his performances in grand finals he has starred in all of them ,, our fwds would be licking their lips with his elite kicking to them.

I saw the interview with Clarkson and he seemed resigned to the fact he's going to Freo and that the Hawks will do what they can to get it done.

Brad is homesick and want to come back home and play with brother Stephan.Brad has achieved in football what 99% of players could only dream about.
Brad can bring plenty to Freo like the Hawks winning culture and preparation to games. Also how to win games that look lost as the Hawks are the masters of getting over the line.Brad not Rioli but comes up key goals at crutial times in games.
The big issue for Freo is the replacement of Pav.At the end of his career but still taking the best defender.Still in the middle of all pack marks and respected by all opponents.
