Good summation Anchor, agree with all that, think Lyon is handling things well and really glad that he is leading the club in what is a big rebuild. Liking what I am seeing so far and enjoying watching the young players being blooded.

The club is in full rebuild in case you havnt noticed, obviously the club has giving him that mandate and I reckon he knew exactly where the club was headed this year , no doubt being winless wasn't the aim but eight of your best playrrs sitting on the side lines doesn't help no doubt a Freo hater like yourself will spin a different way.

When I said I was liking what I am seeing I was referring to, as I said, the young players being blooded. Losing every game so far isnt good and had we not lost so many top players all at once I'm sure blind Freddy would have expected we would have won our fair share of games, maybe half? who knows but the direction was set in stone after problably 5 or 6 games and now we watch the rebuild with one of the very best coaches in the game.

You still have about 15 players playing now that got you to the top last year.. yep losing players to injuries happens at every club & you cant blame that for not winning 1 game yet.. pretty west coast lost their best 2 defenders last year & made a GF..I'm not convinced that Ross knew the club was headed for what is happening now..& he would never say that either..

How could he know what was going to happen?
Incidentally, both Rosich and Lyon admitted that they thought the drop off would be next year and that now the rebuild will start a year earlier, cant be more open than that. Next you will say Freo are tanking.

Yes we still have a fair few players from 2013 and the new game plan has found some out, it makes Lyon look more like a genius imo to have achieved what he has with these foot soldiers is amazing .

Says a lot about those sides that Freo beat and thier coaches as well.

Always thought he did a great job with a list that wasnt an average one but certainly not a top list. He now has the chance to build from the bottom up and lets see what he produces.

Pretty much what he did at the saints ( had foot soldiers there to), nice try but no cigar for Ross. Its high energy and very sapping, buy in ( as they do)and its fine if ya win the big prize, lose and all of a sudden that high energy and manic game plan, wears down players pretty quickly

Yeah you just confirmed what I said to get to where he did with those lists and almost snatch two flags is why he's rated so highly maybe not by plebs on Ozfooty , but by players and coaches and former players in the media and as'ive stated ad nauseum he finally has his chance to rebuild a list with a new game plan.
