I see Ballas copped another week...he's a fantastic player and must be on target for All Australian honours this year but I just wish he'd stop all the other bullsh*t he gets involved in.

yep...i reckon you're right anchor...Lyon was fairly diplomatic when interviewed on tv but reckon he would have ripped Ballas a new one behind closed doors. I can't understand how players these days think they can get away with stuff when there's cameras everywhere...

Umpire saw Bally whack the player but didn't see the incident on the railway side where Bally was downed in the same fashion. Nothing in it, just love the way he plays the game and the fact he is not a well behaved robot like the rest of them. Game could use more characters like him.

Cynical side of me coming out here. Ballantyne has 87 carryover points from a previous offence. If he takes an early plea on this charge, does this mean he gets rid of these points? If so ,this could be handy come finals time and they are highly likely to win this week whether he is there or not

You could say that Balla is a recidivist. Perhaps he needs a 3-4 week suspension hanging over his head to make him smell the roses. He'll cost Freo a game - perhaps a final with his stupid antics. Unfortunately, someone whacking him and not getting caught is no defence.

BC it is unfortunate his name is not Franklin, Ablett junior or Glass et al; if it was then it would have been insufficient force or didn't make contact etc etc.

Pity the umpire didn't see the blatant push in the back by one of the GWS players on Ballantyne in a marking contest.
